Ok, surprising? I don’t think many expected them to discontinue those after one year. Doesn't affect me at all so it's whatever. Agree overall it was very meh.
There are some nice new watches but nothing too interesting. I like the green face DJ. Would buy either that or the Wimbledon dial right now if I had the opportunity. At retail price obviously.
The Tudor Black Bay Pro GMT was the best release. Would be perfect if not as thick as the original BB GMT.
Really like the new day-dates, and the improvements to the Air King case and bracelet are excellent. Still dislike the dial, but it’s an overall improved model now.
This white gold with diamond and sapphire yacht master was shown in Jenna’s video, but I don’t see it listed on Rolex’s site. I would just like to go on record here as saying that I will not be purchasing this:
Do any of you use any at home polishing/cleaning kits? The nano clear brand keeps popping up on Instagram and seems legit. Thoughts?
Showed it to my wife last night and, to my amazement, her reply was, “How much is it? It’s an investment, right?”
WFH watch today. Have these become more limited or stopped production. These prices are probably bullshit but according to Chrono24 (I know I know) they’re worth about 6x what we paid for them.
No. They're for sale on macys.com for $99 right now with 25% off with code OWNIT. All in, it was $78.71.
I don't mind the bezel. I don't mind it being left handed. But a lefty only bezel is weird. Should have made it left and right.
I really like destro watches, and the GMT II is a personal favorite, but Rolex managed to make this one look/feel really awkward & unbalanced.
I'm indifferent to destro watches, but I'm underwhelmed by the bezel coloration and 9 o'clock date window.
43.5mm is a bit big for me but I like their divers a lot. Oris seems like an awesome company, really hoping the put their new in-house into a few different model types beyond the divers and the new pro-pilots they announced.
I’ve been really tempted to pickup one of these 80th anniversary bronze big crown pointer dates pre-owned for this exact reason. Good watches, brand prestige just isn’t there.
Love mine. I'd just caution you that many Oris's use a weird lug setup, so it's probably not the best choice if you like to swap straps
I don't tend to sell once I buy, but wouldn't it going preowned for what it can be bought new be a sign that it does hold value well? I don't think anyone's paying $2200 for a new aquis.
I think at that price it will hold value. Some people are buying watches right now knowing they will increase in value, oris won't do that. There is definitely a market for them and they are frequently sold on r/watchuseek.
No one buying a watch from a brand outside of the big three should be expecting their watch to appreciate.
Plenty of others to add, but they’re generally hard to get and expensive. Laurent ferrier, a Lange, fp journe, etc.
I’ve seen VC in Vegas boutique. I have no idea where I could even buy an FP Journe or A Lange if I had the means.
where is the best place to grab a Submariner? i'm comfortable with gently used so thinking Chrono24. but is reddit, eBay, or elsewhere better? I am looking to upgrade my OP39 and my watchexchange thread didn't get a lot of traction. think i'll just make separate transactions and try not to overspend.
Supposedly the wife's will arrive in July - I'm just ready to get the damn thing at this point - it was supposed to be a gift for her for Christmas.
