Just watched the first episode. Hugely entertaining unconventional dark comedy. It’s about a very odd teenager whose father dies and he goes on a road trip with some girl he just met to retrieve his dad’s Camaro. The characters are all great and bring some different type of quirkiness into the mix. It’s like Napoleon Dynamite, meets the End of the Fucking World, meets Shameless, meets a Tarantino movie. Super violent and gory. Deadpool writers executive produced it. One of the Shameless directors directed it. 8.6 on IMDB and 100% on Rotten Tomatoes Here is the first episode...
I am waiting very patiently. Some of you guys need to binge watch this immediately and start talking about it. I just finished and it is completely amazing in every way. I promise you that it won't disappoint. Violence Gore Heart Great characters Great story Unexpected Plot twists Humor If you like Shameless, Napoleon Dynamite, End of the Fucking World, or even Breaking Bad, Banshee, Fargo, or movies like The Big Lebowski. I can't wait for season two. I may have to rewatch this to get my fill.
Yeah it's really good, scared to talk details with how dead the thread is. But man Del is so cute but so annoying at the same time.
It’s on Amazon now. Needed something new and cathartic after the election coverage. Was only going to watch 1-2 but finished it over the course of two days. Great show, really hope it gets a second season.
Wait, sounds like there is a chance now that it moved to Amazon... https://www.thrillist.com/entertainment/nation/wayne-season-2-release-date-cast-news The actress who plays Del... Showrunner Shawn Simmons told Screenrant that he's already written the Season 2 premiere and has the entire season mapped out, so should Amazon renew the dark comedy, it sounds like the team might only need a few months to write out the rest of the script before moving into production. Considering this speculative timeline, it seems like we won't be hitching a ride back to Brockton until late 2021, or sometime in early 2022, more likely.
i really liked season 1. My son has also been watching old episodes of Big Time Rush which is a tweeny, nickledon show from 5 years ago which the girl in Wayne is a main character in. So with him binge watching that and me watching Wayne, I'd see that character age from 10 to 17 years old each evening.
It is. Sincere thanks to everyone in this thread, this show is tremendous. Just burned through it this weekend and now am also sad there’s no news about more seasons.
Still some optimism for a season 2. I really hope this happens. "Showrunner Shawn Simmons told Screenrant that he’s already written the second season premiere and has the entire season planned out. So, it seems that when Amazon renews the series, the team might only take a few months for writing before moving into production. Currently, the lead stars are busy with other projects. Mark McKenna, in particular, is currently involved with Peacock’s original series ‘One of Us is Lying’. The first season of the series premiered in October 2021 followed by the second season in Oct 2022. So, we are definitely not getting Wayne Season 2 in 2022. Our best bet would be sometime in 2023."
