Anyone know who this is? My favorite Wizard of all time due to his celebration's which I can't say the name because his name is in it
That fucker stole a goal from Gerrard. Gerrard had a nice header off a corner kick that was going for a goal and that bastard stuck his toe on the ball as it was going in.
damn those are some old school wiz uniforms shit i remember when the clash, fusion, and mutiny were teams why would any team be called the mutiny anyway what a shit name
I laughed. You should be praying you even make it to the second round, as opposed to meeting us in the second round. Barca has yet to concede a goal, you've given up more goals than you've played games.
Oh yeah, and I'm still looking for a history lesson on Barca, since apparently me thinking Barca is a better team historically is based on "1 Champion's Cup."
I hated our original kits, I won't throw up every time I see them. We were actually good back then tho so it does bring back some good memories. The mutiny was a dumb name but I liked their kits and they had the one famous Columbian with blond curly afro, FUCK WHAT WAS HIS NAME!?!?!?!?
Again, anybody remember my list that I put in the RB with the top 10 historical club teams. I have to look it up but Barcelona barely made the top 10 (of course that was before their last UCL) I would say they are around 7 or 8 now but behind Real, Milan, Liverpool, Bayern and Boca for sure. Also, nobody is saying that they are not the top team right now (Although the Ibra swap puts them down in my book). The treble is amazing feat, but they are not the only team to ever do it. I seriously doubt they repeat their UCL title, but I still think they win La Liga. Barca is the equivalent of Florida in college football. They can talk shit now but they dont have nearly the same history as the other top clubs in Euope and the world. And before you even try to discredit Boca Juniors, look their history up. I fucking hate Argentina as a whole but I hate to give them credit because their international success speaks for itself.
I'm letting my fandom get in the way? You said Liverpool is better than Barca right now. You have no idea in regards to Barca's history, which is why you made your flippant little "1 Champion's League trophy" comment. You couldn't be further from the fucking truth, jackass.
This is probably the dumbest thing ever posted in a soccer thread, IMO. Manchester United is never ranked around top 3 and neither is Barcelona... The team that you have been talking shit about in this thread is ALMOST ALWAYS rated #3 all time.
Liverpool Domestic League: Winners (18): 1900–01, 1905–06, 1921–22, 1922–23, 1946–47, 1963–64, 1965–66, 1972–73, 1975–76, 1976–77, 1978–79, 1979–80, 1981–82, 1982–83, 1983–84, 1985–86, 1987–88, 1989–90 Champions League: Winners (5): 1977, 1978, 1981, 1984, 2005 Barcelona La Liga: Winners (19): 1928-1929, 1944-1945, 1947-1948, 1948-1949, 1951-1952, 1952-1953, 1958-1959, 1959-1960, 1973-1974, 1984-1985, 1990-1991, 1991-1992, 1992-1993, 1993-1994, 1997-1998, 1998-1999, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2008-2009. Champions League: Winners (3): 1991-1992, 2005-2006, 2008-2009. The only thing you can really compare between teams in different countries is success in competitions in which they can compete. Thus, 5 European/Champions League titles is > than 3. Also, if you want to compare domestic titles, then I and everyone else with any knowledge of soccer would argue that Liverpool has always faced much tougher competition in England than Barcelona has in Spain. Also, as Watson pointed out, Liverpool was banned from European play along with the rest of England due to hooliganism. As far as Barcelona's all time ranking... They do not even enter the discussion until Real Madrid has been placed at #1 and AC Milan at #2. There is no arguing over that fact, those are the two most successful teams in the history of the sport. Then, Liverpool goes at #3, Bayern at #4, and Ajax at #5. At that point, you can begin arguing over Barcelona, who is typically placed in the #6-9 range historically.

So Barca has won the Spanish Cup more times than the #1 team in soccer history, yet their competition is weak? Last I checked, a lot of those games were against the #1 team of all time. And I know it will sound stupid, but you have to count not only the treble, but also entering uncharted cup territory this year.
England has always been much deeper than Spain. That was the point. If you are including the Copa del Ray in your historical analysis, then you are counting a competition that no one outside of Spain gives a fuck about. Domestic tournaments have no place in a comparison of teams in England, Spain, Germany, and Italy. No offense, but arguing that Barcelona and Manchester United are always placed in the top 3 all time shows that you are new to the sport.
Other than the Copa del Ray, the treble was counted in my analysis... It provided your 3rd Champions League and 19th domestic title. But, I should also include the cups that Barcelona MIGHT win this year? Why would that have any place in a historical analysis?
I know that RM and Milan are head and shoulders top 2. I was quickly trying to find actual lists to provide links, and in my hurried search, the lists I found were those that ranked Barca and ManU rather high. I was just going apeshit because watson was claiming 'pool is better than Barca RIGHT NOW.
Fair enough, I have absolutely no doubt that Barcelona is better than Liverpool RIGHT NOW. Hell, they've been much better than them for the last 20 years. I think Barcelona is still the top dog in Europe until someone beats them, but I don't think they are as strong as last year. You'll see what we are talking about when Ibrahimovic is placed in a situation where he has to help the team score against elite competition. FWIW, I've always liked Barcelona. They have managed to compete in a country that is so biased toward Real Madrid that it is openly known that the Spanish Government finances los blancos...
I know what you're talking about with Ibra, and I realize he's a huge drop off from Eto'o. On gamedays I look around and so many fuckers are walking around with Ibra jerseys, I simply don't understand it. When I buy my jersey, my order of preference is: 1. Xavi 2. Iniesta 2. Messi 4. Bojan 5. Puyol
A good list except for Puyol. Dude is an enormous bitch and will never forget his dive in 2006. I love Xavi and Iniesta, and I also love anyone that argues that Gerrard is better than either of them. Their ability to control the midfield and create opportunities for everyone on the field is so much fun to watch.
Xavi is easily my favorite player. The fact that he sports my favorite number makes the purchase just that much easier. Love his style of play. But yeah, seriously, everyone here is sporting an Ibra jersey, it's pissing me off.
I agree with everything Shocker has said but I would include some South American clubs in those lists. BTW Barca is killing Atletico now. Is 4-0 now.
I usually don't include South American clubs, but I agree based on success that one or two of them can be in the top 10 all time. I think it's very hard to argue with a top five of Madrid, Milan, Liverpool, Bayern, and Ajax, though.
While not as extreme, I would compare Ajax to a team like Princeton. They haven't been relevant for years, nor will they be.
i was up from 5am yesterday to 4am today. now up at 7am again looking decent. almost, but not yet pleasing me with play
That's fair, but Real Madrid's corrupt titles from the 50s and 60s that came against weak competition are always factored in, so in that case, Ajax deserves their billing as a top 5 team. FWIW, fucking sucks being up at 6:00 am after going to bed at 2:00... What a weekend of sports. Milan is playing very well with Abate playing right back this morning. Good to see even though I think we desperately need some players in January.
I'd say the biggest perk of being over here is watching games at a decent time. Anyone have a link for me for the Derby?
