I had like 5 people text me this morning after that stupid fucking Fox News article. Here's another take, albeit from an extremely left-leaning source:
I think it's been mostly peaceful, but now there are stories that the mayor and police want to reclaim the area, which I think will unfortunately lead to some more clashes.
Would be cool as shit if it was allowed to just persist, but I also don't think that's realistic. I keep thinking of Freetown Christiana in Copenhagen, but there are no businesses in that area. And I think a lot of the Freetown stuff is to buy drugs, which is a touchy issue.
Very interesting story.
Lol, “the stranger”
I’m sure a lot of the readers are familiar with that one.
it's one of the most popular local newspapers in Seattle, but I'm sure your sources have a better handle on the situation.
There’s no way this lasts forever. Police and the mayor will ‘reclaim’ it at some point. I’m interested to see what the CHAZ can get via negotiations
Yea I agree. Hoping they get some meaningful concessions at least that can lead to real change.
It’s about as popular as the Seattle times. You’re dumb, once again!
“I live 3000 miles away and never heard of it” = must not be a thing
It’s the newspaper that taught me to sit on my hand for ten minutes.
Cut him some slack, his brain power is focused on roasting non-Clemson football programs in that dabo thread
100% the CIA has already contacted that rapper running around with the open carry guys to try to get him to overthrow the collective and install a military dictatorship in Seattle
Already a warlord and they are asking for food because they ran out.
Have they opened diplomacy with the people’s republic of Cambridge? Lol
This is kind of a childish LARP and a distraction from the purpose of the protests.
anarchists in a nutshell
The Albert Camus book was entertaining
soulfly up for a delivery?
He may actually be using anarchist correctly for once
That means we know Stephen Miller probably wrote the tweet.
It seems like things may escalate if this news is true.
That honestly seems fake. Sets up like a joke and then the call for vegan soy products
Where did I attack the credibility?
you were bad at reading again
Everything on my feed shows a completely peaceful and great CHAZ.
I see GOP Twitter wants to napalm the place. Smooth brained Republicans are back at it again
All of my fellow Seattle brethren woke up to texts from their boomer parents with the Fox News link freaking the fuck out
“trump said on Twitter he’s going to shut it down and is threatening”
uhh that’s a typical hour on Twitter for him. Chill
I’ve talked to people who’ve been there and they’ve only said good things
To be fair, education and self improvement aren't really pillars of the right wing
the clemson board is very concerned
i'm sure their concern about the city of seattle is genuine
I’ll go check it out tomorrow guys. I gotta drop my car off at the shop and walk back through home
Take some photos pls
Where are the takes?
I bet TexAgs is fucking LIT UP over this
Posting just to follow. Proceed
Randy Weaver and Cliven Bundy are sitting at home right now wondering what the fuck man...
That doesn't look like it's going to work in my experience
Ah yes, Randy Weaver, the guy who openly defied a bench warrant for a year and a half before a 12 day standoff starting after he and/or his compatriot opened fire on federal police, and Cliven Bundy, who stole from the government for two decades, defeated enforcement of regulations at gunpoint, and whose sons seized a federal building for 40 days, really got fucked over when you compare these situations.
Honestly now if the Bundys took over another wildlife refuge they'd probably be praised by the administration and given the keys to the building
How many weed shops are inside the CHAZ?
This just reminds me of a super urban style of a hippie commune type setup.
I don't see any real issue with it as long as the local residents are good with it in the short term. The long term concerns are if they can maintain the situation after people get bored with it and or the funding starts running low.
What is the long term objective of this?
When I went to Berlin i saw hippies living in a commune on an empty lot. (Look at me I went to Berlin)
They don’t hate the government now for some odd reason.
