I’ve got my eyes on that breakfast baconator
they had it previously but I never felt inclined to get it. Is this something people were clamoring for? Or is Wendy's just trying to insert itself into the news?
Went to Tim Hortons this morning, attached to Wendys. They had it written on their window that they were now serving breakfast, but I saw nobody going through the line. I was tempted to get out of line and try it instead, but I pussed out.
They're trying to make more money. Breakfast fast food is big business.
I'm aware selling food from 7 AM to 1030 AM allows a fast food restaurant to make more money than if they didn't sell food during those hours.
I'm going to assume you also know the breakfast margins are higher than other periods and give you the benefit of doubt, despite the simple response.
So I guess I'm wondering why you asked the question of, "Or is Wendy's just trying to insert itself into the news?". Seems like there's a pretty obvious reason why they're doing this.
"has a really good feeling about it this time."
You mean a cheeseburger?
I guess my ire was directed at the news article, not at Wendy's decision. It is obvious why they would do it. But not sure a fast food place bringing back its average breakfast menu is worth an Eater tweet.
“The Breakfast Baconator fits a lot into a bun: an egg, six strips of Applewood smoked bacon, one square sausage patty, two slices of American cheese and a Swiss cheese Hollandaise sauce”
Cheeseburger with an egg.
i think that's a sausage egg and cheese with a fuck ton of bacon on it.
I'll take 2.
so it is a Hardee's Monster Biscuit?
More fast food options for delivering breakfast food to my face are always appreciated. Wouldn't have otherwise known.
My life is now complete
I’m up for all competition in the Sunday morning chicken biscuit market
need to get you a Wendy's logo to add to your impressive Fan Of section
Gotcha. I'm wondering what they're going to do to differentiate...the menu as talked about really isn't that appealing.
Hey man I'm a fan what can I say?
also, from the links portion at the bottom...B1G! B1G! B1G!
I was tempted this morning by the Hardee’s Double Loaded Omelette Biscuit but due to 790 calories I opted for the regular
They dont have to be that different to get business. Sometimes it's about location and convenience. The nearest intersection to me has a Wendy's, Taco Bell, and a McDonald's. I'll most likely opt for Wendy's over those two on the days I want to grab something. Its that or drive 10 minutes to CFA or Hardees and fuck that on a work day.
I bet that Taco Bell line is almost always empty...but they're really just doing breakfast as a side gig while they pay people to prep for the day
BRING BACK THE SUPERBAR
Yeah their breakfast is not great bob
Wendy’s has done breakfast a few times. It failed because their food was awful. Hopefully this time is different because I generally enjoy Wendy’s.
taco bell breakfast crunchwraps are elite
I swing in once or twice a month and I don't think I've ever had another car in line. The breakfast crunch wrap thing honestly isn't bad. It's that or a chicken McGriddle at McDonalds. I just don't stop for breakfast that much but having another option at Wendy's will be cool.
Need to try this I guess
I stopped at a random Wendy's in southern Indiana a couple of years back that was open for breakfast. Seemed like a franchised location that did their own thing. Had biscuits and gravy. Was pretty good.I think if you let local owners choose their breakfast menu, it works out better
Were you in one of the locations in 2013? It was limited to a few markets and didn’t last long at all. Their other breakfast menu was in the 80’s.
Yes and I also was alive in the 80’s
Me too. I can’t remember their breakfast then at all. I wasn’t in one of the 2013 markets.
Me neither, was more of an aside. The 2013 rollout fell in line with me working midnights and a lack of options so I was excited. Tasted like powdered eggs and pre cooked bacon. I was disappoint
Apparently there's a Wendy's about 5 miles from me that already does breakfast with some of these items. Never knew.
The chocolate pudding...
I remember when Wendy's had a buffet/salad bar.
Wendy’s Chili Chips and Cheese was an absolute must for 90’s HotMic.
Aka breakfast mayo for some
Those were the days...
$1 mini skillet bowl
$1 grilled fiesta potato burrito
6-10 packs of fire sauce
Are they going to put their spicy chicken on a biscuit? Because I’d be there day one if so
Egg on burgers is a game changer.
I've never worked in the food industry so pardon my ignorance, but what would need to be prepped at a Taco Bell? Doesn't everything come essentially pre-prepared in giant bags or boxes?
i remember seeing a wendys serve breakfast in rural tennessee in 2009
also the wendys at the charlotte airport has had breakfast since 2007ish i think
maybe i am imaging all of this
basically everything in an airport serves breakfast
buffalo wild wings even
need to start flying more so i can try that
thinking of booking a flight to orlando just so i can visit the mecca
