OMG that transformation scene in episode 5!!! so well done! and so many awesome cameos Spoiler Chris Pine!!! Michael Cera
Not a fan of John Slattery's character after Episode 1. Everyone else has been great. That intro to episode 2 was fucking hilarious.
Just finished it, love the musical fight scene! Whole series was great, if you loved the film, you will love the show
Halfway through first episode, and it's incedible. "Kevin, stop running" scene had me damn near crying
It's all of the over the top absurdity of the movie all over again. Wonderful. When Schwartzman's character tries to "whisper" to Garafollo in front of Chef, he puts his hand on the wrong side of his face lmao I love that actress who is playing slattery's assistant. Awesome to see her.
Spoiler Amazing Grace on a shofar, played by David Wain no less. Also if anybody cares whatever "Hebrew" showalter uses when demonstrating the shofar is complete gibberish.
The U.S. Government you say? Spoiler * taps random spot on desk, not a phone * "hold all my calls" "look at this dot matrix printout" *stares at the blank sheet* "this proves everything... the greatest conspiracy since Watergate which was 7 years ago"
Was there? I remember when they first print it out there's a bunch of garbage, but I swear the paper they hand cera's character is blank
it was just a bunch of numbers how bout Cera handing the judge the two huge floppy disks, the judge looks at them and says, this changes everything!
I openly fist pumped when I figured out what the song was anyone understand the ending when he is hitchhiking?
Ok, ok ok, I'm hearing you, and what I'm hearing is that this is bothering you that many lives were lost
Would one need to watch the movie before watching this series? Never saw either but enough people have said it was good.
I have never seen the original movie. Watched the first episode of this and just wasn't really interested. Is watching the original movie first important
If you didn't like the first episode you probably won't like they movie. The episodes are very much like the movie
I think the movie has the chance to change one's expectations for the show. It took a solid episode and a half before I really remembered what this writing tandem (wain/showalter) is all about.
Spoiler I loved the use of DJ Ski Mask to cover up the fact that they couldn't get Bradley Cooper for the last couple of episodes.
you absolutely need to watch the movie first. if you like the movie, you'll like the series. if you don't, then you'll save yourself 4 hours (well, 2.5 additional hours). if you like it, you'll get a lot of the jokes that would go over your head otherwise.
i also love how the credits were "in alphabetical order" and they werent even close to alphabetical order
I think you have to watch the movie before watching the show. You won't get nearly as much out of it because there's so much that alludes to the movie. Both are genius if you enjoy the particular brand of humor, though.
