My 4: Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Deep Blue Something Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus Man! I feel like a woman by Shania Twain santeria by Sublime
I feel like you probably moved here after it closed but there used to be a spot on Lincoln called Armida's that was an elite karaoke bar and that's the last place I did it. There was a group of about 15 Black women celebrating their friend's 60th birthday party. I've never been gassed up more in my life than when I sang 'Nice and Slow'. I probably haven't done karaoke since then bc I can't imagine topping that. I'm a terrible singer btw
About 8 years ago when I lived in Columbus, we went to this big live music bar that had a room for karaoke. Well I walked into one of the other rooms to grab a drink but I could still hear the karaoke and someone was doing "I try" by Macy Gray and it sounded perfect, like it was her. I don't know if you guys remember her but she has one of the most unique voices I've ever heard. I walk back into the karaoke room and nudge through the crowd to get a look at who is on stage singing and it's a goofy, huge white guy in his 20's that looked like Jonah Hill in Superbad.
Went to Birmingham for the papa John’s bowl. Found a karaoke bar to drown our sorrows after. Guy who looks just like Kip from napoleon dynamite (including full karate gi) gets on stage to perform Akon’s “Smack That.” Doesn’t crack a smile the whole time, just looks the audience in the eye and stays entirely deadpan. Then his black gf got up and did “Bodies” by Drowning Pool. It was epic
If I'm tipsy and my voice is warmed up, I can slay Dream On by Aerosmith. It's normal karaoke until the high notes, then ALL EYES ON ME.
My best scores on Rock Band back in the day was Maps by the Yeahs Yeah Yeahs That’s as close as I’ve ever gotten to karaoke.
