Super Spike VBall was fun for what it was.
Anyone else use ride their bikes to a big box store just to play the newest gaming system?
John with the lefty serve and that power baseline game>
No because the nearest one would be way too far away, but my dad got off work early to pick up me and my brother from school to play the Nintendo 64 at Toys R Us
Late follow up, but you could ride a starter so long in this game and all the relievers outside of closers were trash
oh indeed, as long as you were selective about which pitches you charged up
see me in the 9th with jamie moyer throwing max-charge super changeups
i remember being so hyped for this game after reading a Nintendo Power about it and then being totally disappointed when it felt like even Barry Sanders was running on ice
its passing gameplay was way better than madden's at the time, though
I still have wet dreams about MVP 2005. I played 2 full seasons, every game, including playoffs and some minor league games while deployed in 2005.
That Marlins squad was so much fun with the young pitchers and a young Miggy with Pierre leading off.
Dude I made a custom team called the Omaha Umbrays and this was also before I had ever lived in Nebraska or knew where Omaha was. Yes that was my attempt at Hombres as an 8 year old. The Umbrays were stacked though. We had Barry Sanders and Brett Favre
I’m not sure if you eat dingleberries for every meal or just as a snack while you play MLB video games.
Man i wish i had the patience for mlb games. The show is legitimately great every year, but god damn that shit takes too damn long, i never remember to warm up relievers, and i swing at every pitch. Its important that i stress every pitch. If i managed to make it through a whole season theres no doubt in my mind i'd have single digit walks as a team if you exclude any ibb.
Shits fun though so i pick it up every other year or so.
Killing them softly
Yeah these are the two games, regardless of sports preference that dominate the circles of people I interact with.
I really loved grifball from halo
NHLPA 93 - bloody good
Totally forgot about that game. I played the hell out of that in 5th-6th grade.
Not sure if Super Dodgeball was mentioned for NES.
I don't know how I forgot fight night but I played the hell out of round 3 and champion
Blitzball was entertaining in FFX.
ive honestly put hundreds of hours in blitzball
harry potter quidditch world cup is also great
Back in the day I would say he was one of my favorite players, and I think it was solely because of that game.
Road Rash for Sega, and Danny Sullivan’s Indy Heat got a lot of playing time from me
What was the NFL game that was Xbox exclusive. It had Peyton Manning on the cover. Game was bad but graphics were good.
Loved this game so much. Wish I still had my Sega so I could play. My brother in law still has all his old game systems and this game so whenever we get up to visit, I get to play.
Top Spin was always overrated to me.
NFL qb club 98 was atrocious...Madden 64 didn’t even have real teams and it was infinitely better
Look at this Banty rooster motherfucker.
In my youth I didn’t have a choice in games, I made due with what I had and learned to love them.
I played NHL Breakaway 98 for like 2 years before I even scored a goal.
Mega man soccer
my (only) favorite thing about NFL QB Club for N64 was if you spammed the speed boost button your RB/WR would inevitably drop down and pull up lame with a blown hammy
Rocket League or Mario Tennis are probably my favorite...nothing is better than scoring a sensational goal in RL
Sports talk baseball
Bill Laimbeer Combat Basketball
Jerry Glanville Pigskin Footbrawl was a wasted rental, however.
Oh and Tecmo Super Bowl on nes was the goat.
Cool Boarders 3
Nintendo Switch you can get a bunch of the old games on and play multiplayer
Look for this game every time I go into a store that sells old Nintendo stuff. It really was a top game all the way around.
I used to draft my teams and would always end up with Pierre, Carl Crawford and Chone Figgins (who was a beast in that game). Stolen bases for days.
Those guys and Greinke with his 60mph curve ball were the most fun sports video game characters/players this side of Bo or Vick.
MVP 06: NCAA Baseball
There were a couple epic flash games back in the day...nabisco wiffle ball and some football game that only had helmets and you tried to score as much as possible in 2 minutes or something
Have we mentioned the old knockout kings or fight night? Those were a blast.
I also used to have incredible marijuana aided def jam vendetta tournaments at my house way back when
Marlins were the second best team in the game. I always played with the A's. They had Rich Harden and Barry Zito and both dominated. Had Eric Byrnes who ran like a 4.2 40 in that game and Eric Chavez who hit bombs repeatedly. He was also known as the vacuum at 3B because anything hit over there was an out. Don't forget Scott Hatteberg who was affectionately known as Shatteberg.
You Owe Me An IOU and Chocolate Girl are also two of the greatest songs ever written.
NBA Street Vol. 2
I liked the old RBI baseballs better than The Show.
I did like a baseball game EA put out like 10 years ago where you could guess the pitch based on the color in the pitchers hand, can’t remember the name?
