No it's more because it was completely unbearable to watch. Taken literally, is it the worst movie of all-time? No. Is it beyond infuriating how acclaimed this utter piece of cinematic trash is? Oh yeah. All the other movies listed itt are harmless. Most of them are hilarious by virtue of their badness. American Sniper is just aggressively and painfully bad.
The Mummy Returns and 300 are the worst movies I’ve ever seen, actual real Hollywood budget category.
In terms of movies without a budget, Adam Sandler was in a movie called “going overboard” before he was famous that is worse than you could ever imagine.
No but you are posting a bunch of average to bad movies in the worst movie ever thread. They all seem to have that in common. I've never even seen the sniper movie and have no interest. Just wondering.
No actually I just saw someone post Predator and was about to cape real hard. I just really hate all the bad action movies that all generated a bunch of buzz and toxic cultishness. 300, The Punisher, and probably Boondock Saints all fit the bill. Bad action movies are usualky just harmlessly, or even delightfully, bad. The ones that ended up on every college freshman's dorm wall are the WOAT, even if their rotten tomatoes ratings are average
I hear ya it doesn’t help that Chris Kyle ended up being a not so great guy and that Clint Eastwood has put out alot of bad films since. But there’s a reason it’s like 70+% on Rotten Tomatoes for critics and 80+% by audience score. It wasn’t read meat for Republicans (e.g., Gods not Dead or the like), but a fairly good portrayal of PTSD and moral quandaries for decision making in warfare. Wasn’t lionizing the Iraq wars. Just my two cents
I am a sucked for even the bad comic book movies. I'll watch them all and enjoy them. Couldn't bring myself to watch fantastic 4 though.
It was 2 hours of straight chaos, people screaming at each other, anxiety inducing. Not my cup of tea at all. Watched with my dad and when the credits rolled we just laughed and agreed that it was the worst movie we had ever seen.
I think at the outset it consciously tried to avoid lionizing that war. But the end product ended up being a lionization of the war with a thinly veiled gesture toward not wanting to. Eastwood just couldn't help himself.
that or Tip Toes. Both are painfully bad. I mean they are so bad you can pretend to like them but they are awful.
Some movies I really like are in this thread. eXistenZ is movie that has really stayed with me over the years. A mind fuck that was ahead of it's time dealing with the overlap of virtual and "real" life with plenty of crazy dream logic and body horror stuff that is interesting and unsettling. Black Knight used to be my favorite movie to watch high. Great performance by Martin Lawrence and his costars that made for an enjoyably silly fish out of water comedy. The New Guy is pretty aggressively weird and trashy for a teen comedy and is a lot of fun. As for worst movie it's hard to argue with stuff like Catwoman, Nothing but trouble and Caddy shack 2. Throw in a couple more Aykroyd movies like Blues Brothers 2000 and Exit to Eden and you've got a HOF of movies that make you angry for the time you lost watching them.
The answer is Eragon. Literally lost interest in the books after that horrendous showing. I had forgotten about it until it was mentioned in this thread, probably purged from my memory.
Lots of the scenes that include guns being shot are just unbearable to watch. Actors making the guns jump in a unrealistic way, also some terrible acting.
I watched Precious and Adopted (Pauly Shore movie) in the same night once and considered setting myself on fire afterward
Don’t ask me why I did but I did. I just watched Guest House and it’s beyond terrible. Pauly Shore movie .
Crash It’s trite, ham-fisted, preachy garbage. Also, it’s Oscar win is the perfect example of the bullshit masturbatory nature of Hollywood.
