That's what a lot of people were saying but then others said copperhead cause it had fangs (they killed it and looked it seems).
I never said she was bright. My favorite comment may have been from someone calling it a cornsnake though. Said it wasn't venomous cause it was climbing up the wall.....
Bought a new house and was there for the first time last Saturday since closing. I look out the back window and there was a snake's head sticking up high out of the grass. Ran out there and it took off so fast. I think it was some sort of black racer but not sure if they're in North Carolina. It was too fast to get a pic off. Owsley
It was legit the fastest snake I've ever seen. If that thing was venomous and I saw it move like that, I might consider calling someone to come get it.
Owsley - how big of a concern is this https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/14/us/georgia-invasive-lizard-trnd/index.html
Well it’s only a matter of time before climate change moves the frost line and then I’m at risk of being swallowed whole by a python so...
Depends on how many they are and how quickly they’re able to be eradicated (if at all.) Its a huge issue for ground dwelling/nesting birds, native reptiles, and small rodents.
For lack of a better place to put it trying to catch a pesky raccoon and relocate that’s trying to get into our attic and caught this
One of my favorite memories growing up was we had a fox that lived by our house. Twice that fox had a litter of pups. It was awesome watching them grow up and play in the field everyday.
I’ve seen red foxes mousing a few times in the wild and it’s one of the coolest experiences I’ve had. Never seen kits, and I can’t even imagine the cuteness.
Ha, we kind of did too. Directly across the street from the house I grew up in was thick woods and probably a ~25ft crevice making the lot worthless to build a house on. There was a bunch of them that lived in there. We'd see them all the time.
It was pretty awesome. I was probably around 12 when the first batch happened. I kept wanting to go closer and play with them. Dad would quickly snatch me up and educate me on coming between a wild animals mom and her young.
Actually had a coyote chase a deer out of those woods one time and onto a lady across the streets front porch. It knocked the water faucet off the house and water was spraying everywhere. The deer got away but it was fucked up. There was blood all over this lady's white house. /cool story
Eastern rat snake. Has a really nice, light pattern with good contrast sometimes referred to as a ‘white oak’ rat snake.
Owsley are there Pygmy rattlesnakes in East TN? I tried to google it and didn’t see that they were. My dumbass best friend sent me a pic of what looks like a rat snake he’d killed saying it’s a Pygmy. I’d beat his ass if I were there. He’s basically taught his children to kill all snakes.
That’s awful. I’m glad I was raised to respect animals. Have def pulled my car to the side of the road more than once to move snapping turtles and snakes before.
