lol. She grew up on 5000 acres so living in suburban Chicago has been life sucking for her. With our son gone we are moving farther out, getting land surrounded by forest preserve and state park but still staying within an hour of ohare for my work travel. If it makes her happy I’m happy. I don’t need anything fancy. My wiener can’t even fit inside a toilet seat when I’m pooping anyways
We have one It’s cool and the app is solid But like anything in life You get back what you put into it Is great for lists, tasks, chores and rewards
We have a big calendar on the wall. It still says July. Wife just bought another one, and wants to have a weekly sit down to fill it in. App would be better, then we could seemingly both add things to it? Especially as the kids get older.
It is annoying that it has to be plugged in So if you hang it up on a wall in your kitchen you have to deal with that cord
Got my wife something similar to the Skylight calendar, but a cheaper brand and one that doesn’t have a subscription. Apolosign I think. Got good ratings online.
We have the big ass Echo home that functions as our calendar and it works well enough and have it synced to all our Google calendars and stuff. It also doubles as a kitchen timer, music player and backup TV when the kids commandeer the main one. We bought a mount and just mounted it in the corner of our kitchen underneath the cabinets. The Skylight thing seems cool but redundant for us.
Syncing calendars for kids sporting events/practices/school calendars via all the apps they organizations use (Teamsnap, etc.) is a godsend. Fuck managing all that manually. I also sync up all my pro/college sports teams calendars to it too so we know not to double-book when KU or whoever is playing.
We went through two of those before giving up on the brand. Kept breaking. Course had similar problems with another brand, just not worth it.
Have had ours for 4 years and counting with minimal cleaning and constant use. Minimal cleaning due to us having extremely good water, still clean every 2-3 months and get minimal buildup out of it.
Yeti tumbler with glass insert (doesn't like taste of coffee in stainless cup) Trekking Poles (will undoubedtly be embarassed to use them but she needs them for extended hikes) Teak shower seat A cheesy photo thing Still need like 1 or 2 other things. Thought about this cordless immersion blender but idk I can just see it never being charged and basically used as a corded. Ehh reviews are fantastic going to get it and call it a day.
My wife has always said she used to paint when she was younger and wishes she could get back into it so here we go
Unless she doesn't like it big (I assume she doesn't boom roasted) all Owala roads lead to the Cadillac FreeSip Sway. Bigger, still fits in a cup holder, can lock the lid.
I've been on the hunt for short-sleeve cotton pajamas with cute designs and I'll tell ya, there's a market opportunity out there for someone. Nearly all of them are, A) silk, B) long-sleeved, C) $100 or more, D) boring AF, or E) all of the above.
first xmas with the gf. We had trouble setting an amount for gifts as were going to Iceland tomorrow. So I made the executive decision for siri to pick a number between $100-500. it came up with $103. I got her 7 pictures framed from mixtiles.com which came to $133 and then spent almost $300 on stocking stuffers(not included in gift amount) which include giftcards to Ulta and Starbucks. Bath bombs, massage oil, nesspresso pods, some candy and her favorite perfume Versace Dylan Blue cause she's out
Way way way more budget friendly this year but did some stuff that I noticed she had to borrow or bought a cheap one from goodwill in a pinch 2 new pie dishes Pie tote Cookbook and there’s a piece of jewelry that’s not crazy expensive at our friends jewelry store, he already called me and told me she was in a few months ago and he put it aside for me
Wife bought a skylight some time in the last year. It has morphed into a nice digital photo frame but it did force her to make shared calendars for each family member which has really helped our overall (digital) calendar organization.
I was going to buy her the smaller sized perfume but the oz/$ ratio just made sense to buy the biggest one. thats where half the money went on the stocking stuffer
My wife got picked to be the bench coach for her derby team's lower team so I got her a custom print shirt with her name/number and "bench coach" on it Bit of a risk cuz she's a graphic designer and it's a print but fuck it
So far, two cashmere sweaters and some slippers. Going to take a couple of our kids to her favorite jewelry store this weekend to find something extra
Pair of sneakers she wanted Massage/spa day thing Towel warmer for bathroom Framed picture for the fridge of us that plays a song we like
Got one of these 2 years ago and it was probably her favorite gift of all time. Towels, sweaters, socks, blankets, you name it
I bought this one in 2023 and it's still going strong. No idea how I wound up on it, so I'm not sure if there are better options https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09FDYMB8K?psc=1
