Thought we were pretty pedestrian in the first half. Hopefully we can figure out the best lineup after the 2 cup games, Giroud had a great 2nd half but like him better as a super sub and Ramsey needs to play deeper or start scoring goals.
I'd still like to see Özil deeper (like he finished the game today) more. Also, I would've loved to have seen Arsene get aggressive and take off Per instead of Ox and slide Bellerin inside to cover Vardy. That's how we set up to defend on corners and it worked and Per was useless in that situation.
Ozil is too soft to play deep, just need to get him adequate midfield support to let him do his thing and flourish. Think our best lineup is probably Theo or Welbeck, Alexis left, Ramsey "right", Ozil 10, Santi or hopefully Elneny soon, and Coq. Allows us to press and have possession or we can counter with speed. Ramsey is a beast in tackles and pressing but just doesn't do enough in possession or end product right now. Gives us a ton of flexibility with subs too as you can move Ramsey deeper or bring in Giroud vs tired CBs. Alexis doesn't play well with Giroud at all which is why I think Theo or Welbeck is the best option up top, it's been 2 years now and the combination play between Alexis and Giroud is nonexistent and Giroud takes away Alexis' space. Ozil also seems to enjoy a mobile striker too.
What happened to Gabriel? Saw he was recovering in Brazil with his old club. Guess we're finally giving up on our medical team, which is completely understandable.
Arseblog has an article about him rehabbing in Brazil. Said we will allow that to give the players a mental break. We allowed Alexis to do it (go back to Chile for awhile) with his recent injury too.
Koscielny was just a dead leg, should be fine. Sounds like Gibbs has a "minor" ankle injury so we'll be running Hector and Nacho into the ground with Gibbs out and Chambers probably needed in the middle vs Hull. Guessing something like Welbeck/Theo/Joel with Ox/Elneny/Coquelin in midfield vs Hull.
Per against Barca is terrifying but adding Chambers' recklessness is just ugh. Really that draw is a nightmare anyway.
Yeah fair enough. I just want him as healthy as possible for the league. I don't care about the Cup or CL at this point but you figure all three of them will feature against Barca midweek.
Don't care about the CL? Obviously it is a long shot but weirder shit has happened. England needs all the teams still alive in Europe to put their best foot forward, so stop being a pussy about it.
I care but have no delusion of beating the greatest attack I've ever seen. Absolutely care about the fa cup too.
Yeah you'd think he'd have a little more respect for a competition you guys have won twice on the bounce. Just shameful.
I want them to win everything and dominate earth. We know what a life without a Coq is and it's not fun at all.
Everytime I look at ucl or bundesliga results lately, Draxler is doing big things for Wolfsburg. Would love to revisit that this summer.
isn't he a guy that mostly plays through the middle/down the left? not sure how he would work with Alexis and Ozil. I know there were always rumors Arsene wanted to make him a CF.
Would like to see him up front, speculation is that's where wenger would play him. I don't know how likely it is he's available though Second today was sweet https://twitter.com/foxsoccer/status/700062123393622018
Yeah I think if we wanted him Arsene would have bought him this summer. He didn't go for anything really insane(by EPL standards) and they certainly won't give him up unless they're making a nice profit.
Saturday's FA Cup game will be Arsene Wenger's 100th for Arsenal. A look at his first 99: Wins: 71 Losses: 13 Goals scored: 189 Titles: 6
My buddy's season tickets for the Caps were raised by 15% for next year, fuck off Brits with your complaining.
Looking forward to some Welbz and Elneny tomorrow, for no Flamini even if it means risking Coquelin(he needs game time anyway and only played 60 vs Leicester)
On Fox Sports proper tomorrow if I can save someone 30 seconds. If anyone gives a fuck, see below. Spoiler Singed my offer letter for a Dublin/London based company today. Worked with the company for the last 5 years and they have two Directors with Emirates tickets. They always promised me that they would get me to London to a game if I made it to Ireland where one of our facilities is. I never made it to Ireland, however, I was scheduled to go in April prior to getting this gig. Definitely not going this season, but fall is a realistic target. Basically you all are the only people on earth who would pretend to care or be interested. My best friend's congratulatory response was, "You fuckin soccer fag."
I will. I know a girl who lives there and her boss has season tickets he promised he would get two tix. but we dont have them yet, so theres an off chance we dont get them i guess.
Well good luck then. Hopefully you do and they're good seats. I very much want to go back. I'd love to get to a match in London as well. Obviously at the Emirates would be my top choice there
yea it shouldnt be a problem but you never know with things like that. wish it wasnt against villa but im not paying anything so i cant complain.
Haven't been over since '09 (first and only trip). Feels like it wasn't that long ago, but damn, 7 years is kind of a long time, innit?
Watching the 2014 FA cup final again tonight in preparation for mañana. I wish we had peak cazorla back.
God damnit, I'd rather wake up to learn that Flamini had sodomized me than see him in the lineup. Hopefully we take it a bit more seriously if we get through this round.
I like it a lot. This is the time when Flamini should be in the lineup. Even gave Sanchez a rest which is nice. There is no reason they should not be able to beat a heavily rotated Hull.
The color guy seems pretty good so far, very pleasant surprise being that it's Fox. Elneny looks great so far.
