No Man's Sky inspired thread. Evolve looked amazing at E3 a couple years ago and just flat out sucked. Back a little further I thought Too Human would be great as well with its huge budget and cool idea but it was terrible.
Spore will always be #1 Star Wars: Battlefront The master chief collection was/is a malfunctioning pile of garbage RE:6 Bioshock 2 I know a lot of people were let down by The Division Star Citizen is largest game ever funded and was supposed to come out in 2014, it's been on Kickstarter for so long now that it's nearly impossible to live up to the hype. Dead island was fun, but after the initial trailer I thought it was going to be amazing Star Wars: the old republic MMO
I bought Destiny right when it came out and was blindsided by how little content there was. Also got fucked over by Master Chief Collection. Incredible incompetence
Yeah but let's not act like we weren't a little surprised at the content there givin what we were told leading up to launch. The campaign was 8 hours and there wasn't a lot of variety in the strike playlist. Those who stuck with it I think have been more than rewarded but I can understand the complaint. Especially if you like to game by yourself and don't tap into the multiplayer (largest time sink) aspect
I'm going to give Watchdogs another chance soon. I had the highest expectations I've ever had for a game and I was so disappointed. Now I've given it plenty of time to come down to earth, I'm about ready to tackle it from the start. This happened with me with LA Noire. Massive expectations and I was so deeply saddened by how bad I thought it was the first time around. Waited a few years after never finishing my playthrough and came back to it. It's in my top 5 games now.
I think what's impressive is nothing has matched the facial realism since. That was such an interesting mechanic. And the setting is just top notch. I love that period.
It was never meant to be a single player game, so that's kind of a weird complaint. However, I won't deny it didn't live up to the hype but it was still very successful. I just don't think it's quite in the same tier as Bioschock 2/No Man's Sky/Spore.
i liked watch dogs, of course it was missing a lot in the way the game "flowed" but it was pretty intuitive. killzone definitely was a clunker destiny 100% for me
I hated it when I first got it and played a driving mission. Controls on a PC were/are horrid. Let it sit more than a few months. Gave it another chance and really liked it. Have completed it twice. Waiting for the DLC to go on sale again.
