Wife and I are going to start it tonight and she hates nudity in shows/films and I am now giddy to see her reaction.
greetings tv aficionados of tmb. considering starting this show with the gf bc we need a new one. how does this show rank in the HBO hierarchy
I feel like last year it was pretty easy to identify what the commentary of the season was on. This one is a little murkier. Still good stuff so far.
Mike White is a genius for creating a show set in resorts in incredible destinations around the world
The front desk guy tells the manager that there have been “a few” bodies found that week (in the opening scene).
Love the awkwardness and tension this show creates think someone is going to snap and kill a few people
Season 2 has been fine but isn’t quite doing it for me like season 1. Tough to beat all those characters from S1.
I feel tense like I’m watching a horror film but it’s just constant awkward moments and instead of jump scares you get laughs
It is hard to judge against another season when you've seen how the other season unfolded compared to this one. From a character standpoint, the only one I am really missing is the Hotel Manager, who was A+.
The hotel manager and F Murray Abraham have been phenomenal. The scene with Michael Imperioli adding the prostitutes to his reservation was as funny as this show has been.
It's interesting to see a character with sex addiction be portrayed negatively on a show, as well as a woman being cheated on portrayed as cunning and "not a victim". I think this season is maybe a little less entertaining but more thought provoking than S1 so far.
I didn't really think about it until now but Albie's description of the godfather makes Daphne's episode a little more interesting. I think she's a really fascinating character.
Favorite characters top to bottom so far: Valentina Harper Bert Cameron Mia Lucia Dominic Daphne Portia Ethan Piano man Albie Tanya Greg
Yes. I think the whole trip was planned to make ethan feel “cool” and accepted in order to bring him on as a client
This is where I was leaning. They didn’t have that scene of him being upset Ethan didn’t bring him on in his sale for nothing
I believe Harper asked Daphne is cam had ever cheated on her. while Ethan has rejected Harper 3 times in 3 days, and resorted to jerking off and making out with another person
the adjoining rooms comment in the first episode made me think they're swingers and trying to get Ethan/Harper involved
