Does anyone else find Mook and Gaitok one dimensional?

 

I'm guessing Gaitok is going to try and play the hero in the final episode and it's not going to go well for him. She's pushing him to be something he's not.

 

If I were Belinda, I know Greg's lifestyle and have seen his house. Tonya was also worth half a billion dollars. At this point, my counteroffer would be at least $3m.

 

He's absolutely going to go down this path. I find the discussions between those two to be so flat at times, especially for people who have known one another since childhood.

 

They seem so awkward around one another.

 

Belinda storyline also falling flat. Unless she takes the payout and finally opens her spa with pornchai

 

It's been very forgettable. Which kind of shows you how far the show has come since s1 filmed during covid.

 

I've liked this season. Other than the darker tone I don't find it to be too different than the first two seasons so far.

Nothing happens in the first two seasons until the last episode

 

I don't hate WL's slow burn. However, I find some of the side characters to be one note, and the connection to previous seasons (Belinda) to be a bit of an afterthought at this point.

That being said, I don't think Greg is this hard nose killer that we’ve been led to believe for two seasons (I do think some of the logistic around Greg just getting away with Tonyas money doesn't make sense). He is however a low balling cheap skate

 

Anyone else notice that they edited out the Duke shirt in the suicide sequences for this episode?

he's just wearing a different shirt (a blank white shirt, the duke shirt is grey) which they would have never had time to reshoot in 1 week

 

They can make that change with CGI. In every other suicide sequence he’s wearing the Duke shirt.

I have no issues with this season. Its still better than 90% of the shit on tv (that I actively consume)

It’s not like true detective that just fell off a fucking cliff or anything

 

Also, I saw someone made a good point about Piper. As much as she seems like the normal one that isn’t money and power hungry, she still lied and used her family’s wealth to get what she wanted.

 

she has affluenza for sure, it’s just a much less cringy version of it.

 

Agreed. It's not the best thing I've ever seen but neither were the first two seasons. It's been enjoyable.

 

One of those performances where I’m not sure it’s good, but it’s certainly memorable

 

I’ve smoked a shitload and drank a good amount while binging s2 and feel like a character, almost done

Incredible episode, built the tension so well and then just an absolute debacle all around at the end.

 

Belinda kind of did the same thing Tonya did to her in season 1.

 

Gaitok with the stunna shades in the ending montage was excellent

 

It was fine, but this season was a significant step behind the first 2.

 

It’s just diminishing returns on shock value of the ending. In a vacuum they are all pretty equal imo.
