My man people see Tua struggle and immediately think of you bc of your obsession with him and you told someone else to do less
Explains his absolutely terrible QBing in the second half. Maybe there should be a mechanism for the NFL to prevent clearly concussed players from re-entering the game.
Sucks - he's always seemed like a good dude that works his ass off and is a good teammate. Hope he get's healthy.
Miami has to be held culpable in some way here right? I realize medical technology isn't perfect on concussion protocol but come the fuck on.
What are the chances that Tua has even a mediocre quality of life past age 50 at this point? 10%? Less?
He’s gotta retire ASAP. And receive some type of additional compensation from the dolphins for their negligence.
I don’t know if I’ll ever truly be a peace with the Tyreek trade when I see him running by an entire defense, and making a lasagna noodle arm look great in spells, as I watch 4 TE sets in KC like they’re the 2012 Stanford Cardinal.
What is Tua's normal conversation level like if he gets concussed and people are all, "just normal Tua, enjoying MacGruber like always"?
NFL is supposed to have "independent" spotters, who's only job, i assume, is to watch for this, and they continue to miss it. A lot of blame should be on McDaniel for how he's handle a lot of it, but not sure how much should be on him for this. Need to hold the whole org accountable, since this is a recurring theme... but also the NFL needs to do something to themselves (they won't)
Steve young went all in on nfl pulling their head out of the ass and fixing this. He said the current ‘protocols’ are shit basically. He’s one that knows from past experience.
How do you quantify this? People should listen to Steve he’s an amazing insightful guy, who had his brains bashed while playing. electronic what do you think Steve Young’s quality of life is?
Mcdaniel is also a first time HC. I think he’s taking a lot of heat and people are forgetting he’s literally never done this before. He even said I’m that Buffalo game doctors told him Tua was good. Fuck should he do there????
I have no idea. I also don't really understand what point you're trying to make by bringing up Steve Young with regard to what we've seen happen to Tua this year.
Also Young has been one of the more outspoken critics of NFL player cte risks and has flat out said he has no idea how he hasn't experienced massive cognitive decline.
As someone who has listened to Aikman call football games for a decade, I'd say that's quite the stretch.
Aikman is one of the most well-spoken former players in broadcasting. If you said Terry Bradshaw then maybe.
i like troy and joe buck. i get why they did it but it stinks that they’re relegated to shitty MNF for the foreseeable future
it has nothing to do with his broadcasting. Plenty of former nfl players can speak just fine after taking all of those hits but I remember reading just how awful it was for him when all of those concussions happened. His quality of life has to be absolutely terrible and he likely takes a ton of painkillers regularly
Not remembering you even played in some of the biggest games of your career because you played through concussions like Aikman is insane
Hopefully for Tua's sake, playing QB and not having sub-concussive blows all game like an OL/DL/LB is in his favor. Those positions seem to be the worst for CTE. Honestly it's just kind of depressing for me as a football fan. I see a player I really like in Tua getting fucked up like this. Pickett has had two concussions this year too. Tee Higgins has had two this year. God knows how many players have had at least 1 this year reported or not. Starts to feel like guys should be getting their bag and getting the fuck out. And obviously if that's the case maybe nobody should be playing at all.
Aikman is (or at least was) a heavy drinker and Michael Irvin is right there with him if not surpassing. Those must have been some wild seasons in Dallas.
This is been just the absolute dumbest week in football media just proving again way too many people are paid for being shitty opinion people. With all the attention and a national audience, Not one person mentioned as much as Tua adjusting his helmet at any point in that game much less “obvious concussion the dolphins should be put in prison” shit people are spewing. If anything the dolphins should actually be commended for putting him in protocol after he self-reported day after symptoms. They are well incentivized to tell him to keep quiet but they are going through the actual process instead with the playoffs on the line. but sure…have mcdaniels head for some reason. And like any of these people give a single fuck about Tua. Just fake outrage all over the place. It’s all gross and no one actually knows anything. It’s not even said if he even had a concussion. And interceptions aren’t proof of anything. The last time he had an unmissable concussion the dolphins should be in jail for (ravens game) he led one of the best 4th quarter comebacks of the season. But sure a bad quarter is obvious concussions now. Better legislate that across all qbs with bad performances. Must be concussed.
yup totally just a back injury from the team with the least credibility in the league on this specific situation
i agree with you that tua just sucks and his performance is not just the result of the brain stew he had going on
