Kopping the GOTY version this week. So excite. Originally had to sell the base game as I ran out of time to play it for a while and I went months without touching it. Ready to just jump in and start over.
http://wpc.4d7d.edgecastcdn.net/004D7D/mkt/document/Changelog-1.30-ENG.pdf full patch notes. i had 2 achivements from blood and wine not pop, maybe i'll fire it up and see if they do now
Anyone else notice unbearable load times in conversations on the xbox one after the latest update? There is like a minute between dialogue prompts for me. I've done a hard reset and cleared the cache.
Just finished Blood and Wine. Wow. What a ride this game has been. Definitely the best gaming experience I've ever had. I fully plan on returning via NG+ at some point. Like someone else said, it will be like returning to high school. All of the feels. Spoiler I got the tragic Toussaint ending. Sucked because I did what I thought was the right thing the whole way. Can't let Detlaff off after he caused the death of those kids in the orphanage. Bummed that seems to have led to the death of the Duchess. I might try to go back and lay waste to Orianna. Fuck that bitch.
stand alone Gwent online card game they are doing a closed server check tomorrow. https://www.playgwent.com/en/news#2550
It plays really well facing off against human players rather than CPU is pretty intense. They added a lot more variety to the deck though at the time they didn't have deck customization so I only got to mess with the preset decks of monsters and Foltest deck. I'm interested in the story mode and especially deck builder once they open it up, but I played about 8 games won about 50% of them if you loved Gwent like I did in the Witcher 3 you will love this standalone title.
I didn't like gwent when I first tried it. Kinda waxed poetic for the dice game. Once I did play it and understand it, I was hooked. I'm currently on my 5th play through of Wild Hunt. Think I have over 400 hours into it and I haven't even hit the DLC yet.
I feel like I missed a shit ton of references and mythology on my initial play-through of Witcher 3 (didn't finish it... about 60 hours deep). I've since pumped the brakes and started reading Andrzej Sapkowski's books (The Last Wish) and the first one is a really easy read so far. It's going to take me about a year to explore the entirety of the story here (books and games) but I think it'll be a much better experience.
I did that, then realized at the end of the game I'd missed several things. So I said screw it, started from the beginning two separate saves and did the choices I thought Roche or Ivorath would appreciate. Hint: something you need for ACT3 comes from ACT2. Don't sell it.....
Hated the Witcher 2 easily the weakest of the series. I'll wait till you finish the game before I give my opinion why.
After playing 3 I just couldn't do either 1 or 2. 3 was by far the best game of the bunch and most advanced being the newest. Going back to the old ones just felt so primitive.
I'm kind of at that point now after logging 6 or so hours on W2. The controls feel so clunky compared to W3; it makes doing the quests feel kind of like a chore. I might just watch one of those YouTube montages with all the cut scenes. Some of them are like 2-4 hours long.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooo https://giphy.com/gifs/3o72EWe21xdsazP8xa/html5 How. Do. I. Embed? God........Why.........
So is this a bad move? It's not so much the controls, which I can do. It's the potions, crafting, and inventory management that are tough.
The Witcher series is my favorite video game series of all time but I hated 2. Spoiler It felt entirely too linear even with the branching story paths, the areas to explore were very limited and the final Act just ends you think it is just building up to something and it just ends
Potions are necessary for the monsters and such. I don't remember there being a cap on how many you could have. What's the issue with inventory management? I'd have to load up a save to see what you are talking about. The potions are not really different than what you do in Wild Hunt.
Are you referring to the Letho ending or just in general? I think they have been following Andrzej Sapkowski's vision of the world pretty well in the games.
My OCD prevents me from continuing forward until I have found every single item and had every single conversation and heard every NPC speak every line and visited every inch of terrain in the game...
So just started up Hearts of Stone. Are there any items I should be saving up to craft in this game, weapons or armor?
There is a rune you can put on your swords that keep the equivalent of them being sharpened on at all times. There is an equal one for armor. That's the only one I bought. I kinda burned through HoS to get to B&W.
I thought the runewright dude was kind of a let down, but maybe I didn't use them efficiently. On the whole though, I liked the Ofieri characters a lot.
Everything you get in HoS will be replaced by better stuff you get in blood and wine. There are armor racks in Toussaint for your old sets.
Bought the GOTY on black friday. Is this a game where I should follow the main questline until I complete it? Should I branch off and do random quests along the way? Is this like Skyrim where I can just start wandering around the wilderness and find stuff to do? I've only played for an hour or so.
I almost always play side quests first. Its a huge game with all kinds of shit to do in the wilderness. You'll see when you start playing.
i did main quests last the last bit of quests until the final battles tho Spoiler defending the castle
When do side quests start appearing? The game started me with Vesemir and told me to follow him to a village. Then at the village it told me to go talk to the Nilfgaardians who had seen Yennefer. Is this some sort of starter storyline/quest/tutorial that needs to be done to open up the rest of the game? Or can I just abandon it and start wandering?
