Been a while so I’m having to get the combat back under control. The performances in this game are honestly the star of the show. Imagine if other dialogue driven games had such an immense cast of enjoyable characters (bethesda I’m looking at you)
The attention to detail in the story is unrivaled. The way doing things differently changes the story is so impressive. Just yesterday I encountered something I've never seen before after years of playing this game.
Just got to Skellige way overleveled because I fucked around in Novigrad for so long. Music is so god damn good.
Started a new play through on my steam deck last week on a work trip. Was fun to play at the airport and on a plane but I think I’m gonna switch to PS5 to experience the updated visuals on a TV
It definitely plays better on PS5 than Steamdeck. But it’s great to have the option to play on a handheld, running well.
Forgot how nasty those question marks can get up in the northern Novigrad area. I’m at Level 78 on death March and some of these baddies are making me work. Fought a Level 90 ancient leshen and barely made it through. I may just take my ass to Skellige after all.
Bats stun me, then I stick in his circle too long and die. Don’t have enough potions that instant heal. Will try using more signs than just quen.
List is curated by a hundred or better notable figures in games media. https://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/best-video-games-all-time lotta cte in that field
Lists are flawed. You look at the top movie lists of all time and they all have Citizen Kane and stuff like that at the top. That wouldn't be near my top choice. Either way both games are tremendous and have stood the test of time since they are still being played years after release.
I feel like this is the best way anybody has made a list. That being said having one over the other doesn’t bother me a bit because you are correct, both are tremendous. I posted this in defense of my cte
Not a single sports game? Even if the genre isn't for you, it's impossible to just completely ignore it.
Since Bioware is basically dead not too many dabble in it anymore. Cdpr does some. I would say some of the decisions in Witcher 3 could change things significantly and I always liked that they weren't so black and white like other games. That said I want a new Kotor where I can go full blown sith again.
Right. TW3 got story-based decisions pretty right but character-based decisions are still lacking in the marketplace. I want skill trees limited to decisions and character choices. Hogwarts had a grand opportunity to incorporate this with use of the Unforgivables but missed the mark entirely.
