I'm like 90% sure the average Stanford grad earns a higher starting salary than the WNBA rookie starting wage.
ND is going to very very good next year assuming half the roster does not get hurt like the past few years
Curious what the average NIL market for the women is in comparison to the men. I obviously assume less but it must be decently lucrative to justify all these transfers.
The conference realignment probably has something to do with it too. The BIG /SEC schools have budgets that can support a robust women's program. Oregon state got ransacked. It sucks.
I am pretty sure Iowa does not have that good of a NIL setup for women's bball. Maybe some recent money was thrown at it bc of the success the last 2 seasons, but nothing that will compete with the top teams. Clark was/is an anomaly when it comes to NIL. Our men's program is struggling to get any NIL money. We have a really solid post player on the men's side that was a freshmen, I almost guarantee he gets poached after next season.
Players that could get drafted BY WNBA are getting 6 figures which is more than the starting WNBA salary. WNBA is also a hard league to make as a rookie.
This is probably the only coach at Iowa im okay with getting promoted to hc from within. Maybe Phil Parker in football but otherwise nada.
I don't even understand how Dawn tries to manage all this talent. I mean, even if we only run two guards(which is basically impossible), one of Watkins, Kitts, Dauda, or Feagan can't start. I guess something like Paopao Hall Johnson Kitts Watkins With the second line being Lay Tessa Edwards Reagan Dauda With Tac and McD working their way in?
Man feel so bad for her. She has had a tough road and it’s a shame she wasn’t able to fully recover and play again. Glad she gets to keep a scholarship. If you aren’t aware of her story, the shortened version is she committed to Iowa and not long after they were walking on the sidewalk in Louisville and a car hit her and her parents, killing her dad and seriously injuring her.
