god damn. how many fucking matches do they play?
18. They play home and away against the other 9 teams. Started qualifying back in 2015.
Most fair way.
How could you not love him tbh?
And he is good as fuck.
I have not seen him that much this year, but vs Atletico Madrid he was very good
Soulfly would rather his host bro win a World Cup for an independent catalunya than bother with Brazil or Argentina, come on now.
Wales-Ireland, Portugal-Switzerland for group winner, group A in flux, Conmebol circus, then USA
Tuesday is gonna be bananas
Croatia blew it vs Finland at home and play Ukraine for a possible group win on the line. Going to be an incredible finish.
Yeah Iceland is pretty much in at this point. Just have to beat Kosovo at home.
Pretty much impossible for the U.S. to play Ghana in a 4th straight WC now.
Pitch looks like something we would play on in concacaf
Sweden ran up enough goals against Luxembourg to essentially eliminate the Dutch
Enjoy rooting against rvp and robben but would like to see them get their shit together
I was going for the reverse jinx but not happening
Nice break for the bulldawgs
I don't like or dislike the Netherlands team, but it's kind of like college football where it's more fun for everyone if the blue bloods are playing meaningful games. Do wish they made it.
Rough day for #Chelsea and #Manchester United fans. N'Golo Kante left France's game with a hamstring injury, the injury has already ruled him out for Tuesday, but not sure it is known beyond that. Marouane Fellaini also came off with an injury and Belgium manager thinks there is possible ligament damage.
Is Fellaini considered a net loss?
If Pogba wasn't hurt as well I don't think it would matter much, but he has been a good replacement. He has 4 goals and an assist already this season for Man U
Yeah United just got better
They are thin in central midfield now. And honestly he has been in decent form this season for United
Yes. Obviously Nelson disagrees. But we are thin at CM and he's been pretty solid this year
Thats a valid point.
Who else can they lob the ball into the box to?
Lithuania’s stadium is awesome.
Scotland really screwed the pooch on this one, need to pull one back in the next 10 mins for a draw.
Montenegro just tied the match against Poland. If the scores hold Denmark auto qualifies.
And Poland immediately takes the lead back
Slovenia with a red card, Scotland need a goal to win to advance to the playoffs
Slovakia advance to the playoffs from Group F
Poland qualifies and Denmark to Playoffs
We wouldnt have auto qualified anyways. Poland had to lose for that to happen.
How is group I so shitty?
Beauty of a backheel from 7 yards for Bayern Munich's newest addition Leon Goretzka
It's not a great group but it's a deep group
Yeah I can't math apparently
Wales-Ireland is actually tomorrow, nice. Tuesday has enough as it is and Switzerland-Portugal will be huge.
Switzerland and Portugal play in Lisbon on Tuesday which should be an awesome game. The Swiss have 27 points and Portugal have 24, a Portugal victory gives them auto promotion based off of goal differential.
Sweden and Netherlands play and the Dutch need a 12 goal win to advance to the playoff
In group D, Serbia has 18 points, Wales 17 and Ireland 16. Wales and Ireland play in Cardiff while Serbia has Georgia in Belgrade. Should be quite an interesting winner takes all battle with Wales and Ireland for the Playoff spot assuming Serbia takes care of Georgia.
Group I has a few possibilities, but Iceland can attain auto qualification with win vs Kosovo who only have 1 point thru 9 games. Croatia and Ukraine are tied with 17 points, but Croatia have a 3 goal lead in goal differential. They face off in Kiev with Croatia needing a draw or a win to advance and Ukraine a win. Kosovo could throw a fun wrench into the party, but that's unlikely as they are on the road and also suck ass.
Edit: 2nd place teams with dropping the results of the 6th place team could potentially make some things fucky, but unlikely.
As long as my math isn't failing me again, a draw for Croatia may not be enough. E.g. if Wales and Serbia both win Croatia would be the lowest of the second place teams and not advance. No idea what happens to them if they draw and Serbia and Ireland win or Wales wins and Serbia loses or draws.
Ahhh I think you edited while I was typing my post but yeah
Lovely, gonna be a fun next couple days.
Finally euro qualifying gets exciting, conmebol kicks the shit out of it.
When are the playoffs?
Yeah you are right draws will make it fun figuring everything out
The first legs will be played on 9–11 November, and the second legs will be played on 12–14 November 2017.
The November break I'm pretty sure
Looking at this further and if Serbia win, Wales draws 0-0 and Croatia draws 1-1, Wales and Croatia will be even on points, goal difference and goals scored, meaning the last playoff place would be awarded based on fair play points (or if that's tied by drawing lots). So it's not too far fetched that a playoff place could essentially be awarded by the ref in one game giving a cheap yellow card in injury time.
