New FIFA president wants to expand the tournament to 48 teams. Thoughts? Personally, I would like to see it expanded but to 40 not 48. Can do 8 groups of 5. Top 3 advance. Group winners get a bye in the first knockout round. Obviously, a lot depends on how they would determine which Confederations get the extra spots. I don't wanna see more Asian teams but Europe and S.America definitely deserve more spots.
They would most definitely give more to Asia and Africa. I can also see them doing away with the Confed playoff.
