the current problems with pokemon go have me thinking: what's the worst launch you've experienced? pokemon go is really up there but i'm not sure anything can be worse than gta online. (except for me, i got in and created my dude on the first try. not one problem ever.)
Diablo 3 ERROR 37. The worst ever. The auction house just made it so much worse. One of the few games that redeemed itself though. Star Wars The Old Republic was released too early. A few bugs but the issue was not enough content. Poor release on account of that. The Divison was terrible in so so many ways I can't even begin to describe them. More bugs and blatant "hacking" than anything I've ever seen. Most of the WoW expansion released were rough for a day or two, but the worst was the AQ event. Tons of crashes and server overloads.
Skyrim was abysmal on PS from jump. FO4 has been bad as well. Bethesda developed both on Xbox and ported to ps. They're not very good at that.
Star Wars Galaxies. Pretty much any MMO I've played has had trouble on launch day. Seems to be just part of it.
They can beta test all they want, its just impossible to simulate that many people logging on at or around the same time creating characters and whatnot. But damn it I find myself at launch everytime.
It was before my time, but the launch of E.T. on the atari is a hilarious story. -They were given like 6 weeks to complete the game and get it out before christmas -Produced a shitload of copies -It was predictably awful and lost Atari a huge amount of money -They literally buried most of the unsold copies -Almost single handedly killed the gaming industry at the time
Assassin's Creed Unity Framerate was holding steady at 15 FPS. Textures were missing. Faces were nonexistent on some characters. You could fall through the map just walking around. Clipping was just hilariously bad. I believe it took them about 3 months to fix that entirely. I was impatient and played through it with the first patch. Such a promising setting for the series and they just botched the fuck out of it.
Fallout NV was a broken piece of shit for a while. MCC was still awful last I played a couple months ago.
My grandpa had this game. I used to play it for hours as a kid because I couldn't figure it out and kept thinking I was the one screwing up. You just walk off screen and fall in a pit and hover half way out? So now when people bring up how awful this game is, it makes a whole lot more sense. Thankfully the old man also had Frogs and Flies and Asteroid to keep me busy
