Not sure where Stieber's offense went in that one, winnable match dropped that is going to cost us vs Russia
was watching scramblecam for a bit yep, not his game at all. Didn't even give himself a chance to win.
Chakaev controlled the match with that front headlock. He even went straight backwards out of bounds with 12 seconds, conceding a point, just to get a restart. It was a missed call by the refs. Chakaev should have been awarded 2 for that imo. That's a new rule as of last year. Stieber shot once in the first 5.5 minutes of the match and got to Chakaev's legs. Just couldn't finish. Overall Chakaev wrestled a smart match and deserved to win. I'll add that Stieber's 4 points were off of a Chakaev blunder. He 4'ed himself.
I think Erdenebat was screwed. He should have been given a 2 for a correct throw in the 2nd. He went into desperation mode after he fell down 2-1 and gave up 4 points from that. Would have won with that 2 imo.
Valdes Tobier with a great hip toss on Niyazbekov, immediately techs him right after. Niyazbekov is no chump either, Valdes Tobier looks like the favorite at 65 right now
Best J'den's looked since the '16 Olympics. His defense was back and his movement was great. Now JB on deck after Yazdani vs Torreblanca
Gilman and Cox win within a minute of eachother. Big W for J'den. And of course he immediately acts as though he is deathly injured as soon as his hand is raised.
And Yazdani techs Torreblanca... I'm going to keep saying this, what DT did to break him, a guy that normally does that to everyone in the world(see Geduev in the Olympic final) is just ridiculous
Yeah, the Russians are looking pretty invincible this year, no early slip-ups like last year(Uguev, Khizriev). Going to take a helluva an effort to challenge them
It’s gotta be the most exciting matchup in all of wrestling. I think anyone could find it entertaining even if they’ve never watched wrestling.
holy hell this stretch has been brutal but looks like we got Gilman in the hole on B and Dake in hole on C with lots of good matches on those mats before them.
How has Dake not wrestled? All of the other upcoming matches are QF's and Dake has not even been listed yet, so obnoxious
Damn Karimiachiani (iran) looked very impressive beating #2 Sharifov (aze) 7-0. I think he dropped from 97?
Haven't even touched caffeine this weekend, no idea how I haven't crashed yet. Gatorade seems to be keeping me alive.
He was at 86 for the Olympics, J'den beat him in the quarters I think, but had to move after Yazdani came up. Looks great at 92
Wow, did not see that one coming... 10-0 over Khinchegashvili. Otoguro up next, that one could have like a billion points
Gilman looked great against Eiderashvili, total control. Gets the artiste formerly known as Artis Sanaa in the semis. Uguev v Takahashi a great semi there, Uguev, like the entire fucking Russian team has looked fantastic
He has never looked this good in his career, J'den up next for Karimi. Huge if J'den can get to the finals and knock out a Russian all at once
Blink and you missed both of Dake's matches, another 11-0 tech, Gadzhi up next(assuming of course he finishes off the Mongolian)
Guessing we need that semi to have any shot at winning team race. No idea, hopefully can get a few hours of sleep now.
