Is UVA bearing Lock Haven then Arizona State at the Virginia Duals a big surprise? VT/UVA final tonight.
Nah, we stink this year, redshirting everyone that can, plus Millhof is hurt at 125(Brandon Courtney is decent but he's sooo tiny, even for 125, can't hang) and Norfleet at 184. Literally only have Shields and Zahid that will score serious points at NCAA's, and have black holes in a dual lineup at 141, 97, and HWY and somehow Josh Maruca is terrible, he's been ranked all year despite like 10 losses Redshirting this year that would be starting Jacori Teemer - 149 Anthony Valencia(Shields would still be at 157) - 165 Tanner Hall(Midlands winner this year) - HWT
Haven't seen it but read a few places that Gable has put on quite the act after matches recently. Not a fan of showing up opponents. Wasn't much of a fan of the amount of shit Snyder talked but didn't show up opponents. Let that shit stay with boxing/UFC/WWE
I don't know if it's showing up opponents as much as it is wrestling hard and physically. If you mean the after match stuff, I am a firm believer that kids should be able to celebrate a little after big wins. I don't think he's done anything disrespectful that I've seen.
I haven't seen it so no idea, just read that some don't like his antics. I don't really care for Gilman's bullshit but he is a beast, Tom Brands + DeSanto is a terrible combination.
The Olympic Redshirt criteria for 2020 has been released. Past national team members (top three from the World or Olympic Team Trials) Top eight at the 2019 Senior U.S. Open Top three at the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championship; or NCAA champion from a previous year AND top two from the 2019 U23 World Team Trials (must accomplish both). Previous Cadet, Junior, U23 world medalist #4 in particular is surprising. That is a very broad group of individuals who will have the option of an Olympic redshirt next year. This will 100% impact the 2019-2020 NCAA Wrestling season. There's going to be around 50 guys who will have the option to take an olympic redshirt, and I would imagine that a number of those will elect to do so. PSU is going to have 5-8 guys eligible (Hall, Brooks, Verkleeren, Berge, Manville already eligible, Vincenzo likely, Cassar can finish top 3, RBY can finish top 3 or top 8 at the Open). OSU already has 3 eligible in Kollin Moore, Gavin Hoffman, and DG Kerkvliet. Gives them some flexibility at crowded upperweights.
Seth Gross out for the year. Really unfortunate, especially with the incredible lineup at 133 this season. My guess is that he'll get a 6th year and wrestle at 141 next year.
Someone said it best...Rutgers has took all the PSU out of Suriano. He’s regressed in every facet of his game. Congrats bucs
yeah he has such a limited offense game now. sat on a 3-1 lead last night and racked up two stalls against him in the final period. Just goes to show how important wrestling partners are, since he really has no one to wrestle at Rutgers in the room, and Freak Show has Lee, Gilman and others.
Yeah Desanto is off his fucking rocker. Also rumors floating around our home board that Lee has been dealing with kidney stones which could account for why he's looked terrible this season.
What's going on with Yarygin, looks like Snyder and the B team. Assume Sadulaev will be wrestling after he called him out.
Looks like there's 8 classes(no 92 or 125). J'Den's weight is only missing out between the him/Taylor/Dake/Burroughs. Cory Clark also going and not Stieber, no idea. Thought this was prestigious enough to send a better team. Zain is probably our 2nd best going.
I am hoping Sam Turner didn't wrestle vs Air Force because it was such a lopsided matchup and we could get someone else some experience WYO looking like they'll have a really strong dual record at the end of the season. But outside of Ashworth and Bridges, I don't expect anyone to earn AA honors. And it'll be tough for both of them. Sam probably has the best chance of anyone else so hopefully he is healthy
125 is too big of a hole to overcome...and with Nickal and Cenzo struggling big time, not to mention Rasheed ducking opponents, it looks like the PSU shine has finally worn off. congrats bucs
Gonna be a tough 1. Def need 184/197 bonus points(not too worried about that) and a Ke-Shawn win or an upset
