ASU's nightmare season continues, only Josh Shields has managed to avoid some serious regression. Zahid hasn't looked himself all year, even not counting the 2 losses
Zahid's looked huge for a 174er the last 2 years. I thought for sure he'd bump up this year. I have no idea how he's still getting to 174 for the 3rd year in a row. That weight pull has to be brutal.
Ha yep. Parents were kicked out regularly. Two in particular that I can remember. Both are also now dead from heart attacks and I am not making that up.
Both smoked relentlessly, too. But of course it wasn’t just them. As literally every person in this thread knows, it’s THEE most tense competition you can watch your child in, as far as the popular sports go. Shits likely to happen in that atmosphere.
Hokies battled tight with Cornell Friday. ZZ lost to Dean by MD after beating him twice before. Missed that match, not sure what was up with him. Sliegh at 197 did not wrestle. Cornell won on criteria. Saturday was a beat down of UVA. One more dual against NCST Friday for a share of the ACC title.
We have to share the b1g title with the #Iowa Duckeyes because they somehow didn't have PSU, Michigan, or OSU on their conference schedule
That’s crazy that the top programs don’t face each other in conference. Wrestling is so weird sometimes.
McKenna/Yianni tomorrow night. Earlier in the year, think McKenna could have won. Don't see it tomorrow, supposedly has been hurt.
Yeah we suck outside of Marinelli. Lee is a shell of his old self, Desanto is a headcase/psycho, and Stoll is just a Big pile.
Burroughs-Chamizo IV should be going down around 6:15 AM ET (3 hours from now) for anyone who will be awake.
How are we so deep at 79kg? It's like we're Russia or something, 3 guys who could easily be world medalists any given year(and would likely be favorites to). Zahid beating Dieringer that dominantly twice is still confusin, Dieringer has been one of our most constant guys on the circuit for about 18 months.
Outside of beating Dieringer, who at this point you have to believe is the #3 guy in the world behind Dake and Gadzhi, Valencia hasn't really beaten anyone of note that I can think of. He has a win over Deepak Punia who was a junior silver medalist last year, and obviously the controversial loss to Naifonov.
ACCs tomorrow in Blacksburg. VT looking for 3rd in a row. Don’t think I’ll do all day, but I’m gonna check it out.
