Did anyone record the episodes on Hulu live? I think the end of 1 was the start or episode 2 and cut off the end. Last part I saw was them talking about firing the manager if they don't make the playoffs.
no I watched them on Hulu but not Hulu live. Got the whole episode currently up 2-0 on Gateshead in the 22nd minute btw
Yeah, something weird like that happened when I watched live on YouTubeTV. Weird editing glitch or something.
Ended up winning 3-1 and are 1 point out of 1st place. Winning the league is essential to promotion bc there are only two promotion places and 1st is the only automatic spot
Saw Reynolds is going after the league for not allowing international streaming. Would imagine something gets sorted out in the end…not like the national league can pass up on a revenue stream
but they did. That is why he is going after them. My guess is they felt it only profits his team because maybe not that much market for the others.
Right. My point was more about them holding to their original decision. there’s a way for it to benefit everyone, with certain teams getting a bigger cut due to airtime.
As far as celebrities go it’d be hard to find a better combo. The absolute look of horror and disgust when they found out about the pitch but still being able to crack jokes and the constant self deprecation (especially from Reynolds) is great. Hopefully there’s more locals they keep adding as it goes on.
I was wondering how much the new pitch cost compared to some new players. I think the 1st episode said average players salary was around 50k… They probably could have gotten a couple solid players with that money.
I just kept thinking of that groundskeeper. He 100% lost his job right? It also shows their dedication, They could flood the grounds, save 200K but risk injuries, instead they dropped the cash. Same with the Mullins signing. They’d much rather lose money and win.
The new signings they’ve made are making more like 200k mullin is probably on 6-7k a week on a 3 year deal
I got my dad to start watching with the hopes that Wrexham will be a place we watch a game whenever we do our soccer trip to England/Europe.
This is why the freehold to Stamford Bridge isn't owned by Chelsea. This was a very common predatory tactic in the late 20th/early 21st century.
Just caught up. Was not expecting the rendering to look that nice. They’re really putting a lot of money into this club.
he looked genuinely hurt by being called out lmao I can’t imagine how uncomfortable it was also I love how the translator chef lady just dunks on their sexual performance
could have gone without what I imagine was a last second filler episode while entertaining it seemed very out of place and wasn’t anywhere as good as the regular format
So I thought that initially but the more I reflect on it I do appreciate the creative attempt to not just bring a straight reality show and inject their personality into it. Some good some bad though.
I too enjoy the scripted and creative things they do (because they’re both super likable and very, very good at it/have a great rapport) but I think there’s an adequate amount of that included in the show already in the way they’ve shown the marketing and sponsorship elements (Aviation Gin, Tik Tok, Mint Mobile, Deadpool, Free Guy movie premiere etc) and pre-recorded messages & PR communications (introducing themselves, video playing around in Rob’s backyard). I also agree that getting some of their authentic personality in the show is a great element but it’s much more interesting when it’s the non-scripted, authentic day to day interactions. Or as authentic as can be while still being filmed. By far the best part of the show is the team and town itself. Following the players, coaches and especially the fans is what makes the show so great and, to my larger point, I’d much rather have an episode full of their stories than more pre-scripted content from R&R as there’s plenty of that already.
I don't disagree but I liked the cultural tourism episode. Part of this whole thing has to be getting people interested in visiting Wales and it's working on me. I'm making my wife Welsh cakes tomorrow.
Got my son Into them now. Placed an order for two jerseys. I am a sucker. Too bad you can’t get the greens from last year. Those are pretty cool.
I wonder how often Reynolds has been a loser in his life? He definitely looked a bit shook when they were chanting at him. Mac’s from Philly, he knows all about losing. It’s cool how much more of a “fan” he is then Reynolds.
I was fine with the Wales episode. Think it would of been better for episode 2 or 3 though. Remember Rob/Ryan aren’t soccer fans living in America. Soccer fans living in America understand Wales and England. I unfortunately am willing to bet the majority or Americans thinks Wales is someplace Princess Di owned.
I thought the same thing. Rob is a born and bread sports fan, and is 100% all in on Wrexham. Ryan is clearly wading in slowly to the emotional devastation that fandom brings.
Really good episode and I like the longer run length rather than two separate themed episodes. this show is so good for a reality TV show. I have gotten so many people to watch it and everyone loves it.
