Really pumped Chris Stapleton won so much. May have been discussed, but in Miranda's post-show interview she was wearing a Chris Stapleton shirt. She's apparently a big fan because she was at his show with Jason Isbell last week
Who was the group that sang The Oak Ridge Boys song tonight? Looked like they were from the cast of Glee.
She gave him a shoutout during her award speech. Basically said "thanks, needed this it's been a rough year. Justin and Chris, thanks so much. I'm gonna go home and practice". And she had his t-shirt on too
Sturgill signed with Atlantic because they gave him full creative control of his music. There are some labels that want to put out good music. It's just not any of the big 4
I was at a Sturgill show awhile back. We meet a guy there in maybe mid-40s that was as big of a Sturgill supporter you could imagine...followed him everywhere since Sunday Valley, said he was taking a vacation to go watch him play down at Cain's Ballroom yada yada. Some broad beside us is talking about Nashville and going on and on. The guy who had followed Sturgill all over USA pipes up and goes "Fuck you and Fuck Nashville. The Nashville music scene is fucking terrible". I got a good chuckle and the bitch shut up.
Watched the CMA for 5 minutes... I fell down on my knees and thanked the Almighty for not putting me in the south. Holy fuck, guys, stop POWESHOW
I'd rather live on the streets in California than live in a mansion in Alabama. Fortunately for me I live in one of the most affluent cities in California. So fuck the south. Fuck country music. And fuck all of you inbred dumb fucks.
Lol- it's like we got the last tickets to Disneyland. God damn I just watched the Reba performance.... I'm so sorry you guys have to live like this.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he signed with Atlantic's NY division to avoid the Nashville label scene. I know that he is recording his new album in Nashville but I don't think it's their "country" label that he's under.
it's powe and shocker of course they don't know what they're talking about. fresno and bakersfield are just as bad and really worse than anything the south has to offer.
I think we should spend more time making fun of the guy that came into the "WTF happened to Country Music" thread to bitch about Sam Hunt not winning more awards
I still don't know what he was doing at the CMA's. I did think it was funny that Brad P took a joking shot at him saying he is playing to the young demographic.
Lately all I've been listening to is Jason Isbell and Kacey Musgraves. Feel like everything they touch is gold.
They're pretty talented. Most of their covers are too pop-oriented for my taste, but they can really sing.
I will admit, the main reason I said that was I had never heard one song of Chris Stapleton (Just doesn't get played on radio here?) After Listening to him I agree that he is a talent, does suprise me though, seems like it was a little early for all the awards.
chris stapleton has been winning awards for like 10 years for other peoples performing his stuff, and some of his own work
Stapleton opened up for Eric Church this summer on his tour, and he definitely stole the show at least in Lincoln. Have really enjoyed listening to his stuff ever since then. Also, I'm pretty sure that's his wife that sings with him as well.
anyone else notice SNF used 7&7 heading to commercial break last night? it's my favorite turnpike troubadours song.
Noticed that too. Texted a friend that I went to see Turnpike with here in Charlotte about it last night. Nice to hear good country on SNF for a change.
http://www.today.com/health/joey-peace-singer-enters-hospice-spends-last-days-showering-baby-t54786 i think I have heard one of their songs. either way. sad af
I remember first hearing them on an Overstock.com commercial I think. Always thought she was pretty good looking and for some reason the other day I got the thought to look them up to see what they were up to. I read about all of that and got sad as fuck.
going to see lee brice, jon pardi, brothers osborne, patrick davis, and a couple of other people not mind blowing by any means but lee brice does some good shit and its 75 bucks for all you can drink and theyre all playing acoustic sets in the vip tent. should be pretty cool, beautiful day for it
