Good article on Dave Cobb, the guy who produced Sturgill, Isbell, and Jamey Johnson. http://www.billboard.com/articles/c...b-talks-chris-stapleton-country-tipping-point

Tracy Lawrence is coming to a bar in my hometown soon. I will be going for nostalgiac reasons and lonely big women.
Friend of mine went to some country music college after high school. Said that if you could play the steel guitar you'd have a guaranteed touring gig for life with someone.

4. Beyoncé with the Dixie Chicks, “Daddy Issues” (Columbia) Good job country music. Ive never heard it but im sure ice picks in my ears would be more pleasurable.
Some artists sold a lot of albums without impressing the critics. The discrepancy was especially noticeable for Joey + Rory’s Hymns (No. 2 Billboard Year-End Country Albums/No. 61 Best Albums Poll), Blake Shelton’s If I’m Honest (No. 3/No. 65 Scene) and Jason Aldean’s They Don’t Know (No. 12/No. 110). Remarkably, Florida Georgia Line’s Dig Your Roots, the No. 11 album for Billboard, failed to win a single vote from any of the 89 critics participating in the poll.
Just ran across some of this guy's live stuff. Wasn't a fan of the songs he put on the radio recently (Hurricane and She Got The Best of Me) until I heard him sing some other stuff live recently. Pretty impressed with him. He writes or co-writes all of his music, which I like. And he looks nothing like what I pictured. So, that probably helps him in my eyes that he doesn't look like the current typical country artist.
