What’s everyone think about the new Bingham album? I like it. Few songs I could do without but overall it’s solid. I did have very low expectations going in so that probably helps.
Random compliment post: SC is a solid ass poster when it comes to subjects he keeps up with. Always breaking down good sports and music info
Not a big fan so far. I'll give it another listen, but it's a clear step down from Fear and Saturday Night to me.
Man, I just can't get enough of this guy. I've listened to this album probably five times through already. This is absolutely my favorite song on the album, so damn good
I think either that one or Strawberry queen are my favorites. The Last Bite is a good one, too. He's instantly become one of my favorite artists
And he has essentially no following at the moment. He’s playing in bars for free. Only has 400 twitter followers. He’s playing at a brewery in Harrisonburg next month (JMU college town). Think I’m going to make the trip up from Richmond
He's basically playing in pizza and burrito joints in WV and OH right now. Who knows how long it will take him to make it my way to South Ga or North FL
Looks like he played an acoustic set at some bar in Morgantown last night during an open mic night. I sincerely hope our #West Virginia Mountaineers contingent is getting out and supporting this guy.
I don't like much country but I like this. I hate that pop bullshit. I'm gonna get this dude to play at my house. It.s not set up, I haven't even talked to him but I know I can pull it off.
New Vandoliers album is out today, and it's really good. More cowpunk than traditional country, but some clear red-dirt influences.
spotify has removed a bunch of the Chris Knight songs i had downloaded. cant find Hard Edges, Maria, or North Dakota
One of my favorite lines of his: And if the Lord wants to take me I'm here for the taking Cause hell's probably better than trying to get by Goddamn
Listened to a few, and will check the whole thing out later. Had this album playing for the last 30 minutes or so. Havent been paying attention too much, but it has a real Honky Tonk feel. Probably gonna give this one a listen tonight.
made me real happy to hear that George Strait has a new single on country radio. such a breath of fresh air compared to the usual.
thanks for this recommendation. i wouldnt be surprised if this guy gains some notoriety, he's solid. Appalachia region is putting out some great music right now.
Capstone 88 How did you find out? I went to his website last week and looked for something here. Either way I owe you a beer at the show.
I’m actually Charles Wesley Godwin Spoiler introduced a friend and she told me about it when she saw it when looking him up
I’m having trouble with the lyrics. Did he just see a random phrase spray painted? How is he involved in Jessie and that guys story?
Not sure if this has been posted but it’s the only good new country (for me) I’ve heard since Bonnie Prince Billy or Wooden Wand, definitely in the vein of Americana crooning “alt”-country:
Album of unreleased Townes Van Zandt stuff is solid. It's mostly just different versions of already released songs, with a few new ones thrown in. I could listen to a million different versions of Pancho & Lefty
Was reading a story about some up and coming country artist that accidentally shot and killed himself while filming a music video https://www.wthr.com/article/rising...-carter-dead-after-accidentally-shooting-self Figured I'd check out his music. This might be the worst music video I've ever seen
