a couple of albums in heavy rotation for me lately: Tim Goodin "True Stories and Flat Out Lies" is very good Appalachia country music Megan Maroney "Lucky". This album surprised me because this girl looks and dresses like Barbie doll. There are a few pop radio songs that are misses but about 3/4 of this album is well-written country songs full of pedal steel and her vocals remind me of Deanna Carter. worth checking out at least.
I'll not be surprised if this guy blows up pretty fast, all the singles he's released so far definitely hit. New album June 23.
Ryan Bingham just released a new song for the first time since the Reagan administration and, man, I couldn’t make it through the whole song.
The Tommy Prine record is really, really good. I wouldn't call it country, but it exists in some realm of Americana. The Ruston Kelly influence is readily apparent if you listen to any of Ruston's stuff. Love that it doesn't sound anything like what the average person would probably expect a debut record from "Tommy Prine, son of John" to sound like.
I maintain Fear and Saturday night was a good Bingham album. but everything surrounding it since Junky Star has been dicey.
Bingham put out legitimately one of my deserted island albums in Mescalito. Like, I remember where I was when I first listened to it. Everything since then has been a slow, steady decline to…this.
really good album. there's like some punk and even a few harder elements in places which i wouldn't have expected.
Chipping Mill sounds like a song that could have been from way back on the Bossier City album. Classic Turnpike sound, but very basic. Definitely growing on me the more I listen to it. Like it, don’t love it.
Maybe his most impressive feat was not even breaking into the country mainstream. He just got bad and it was legitimately bad. Never even got that Nashville bad. Mescalito is incredible. It didn't have to be this way.
I didnt know Bingham put out a new song and I wish I didnt. that shit sucked. Who produced this piece of shit. Would be funny if Sheridan did imo
I went to watch Shane Smith & the Saints play the last day of Jackalope Jamboree in Eastern Oregon yesterday and you can't say enough about how good those guys are. They're still getting placed way too low on the billing for some other festivals they're playing imo, I think within a year they'll be a no-doubt headlining act for any country festival out there from Under the big sky to Mile 0. Also Vandoliers opened and those guys are awesome.
Good. Was supposed to be February. Been waiting for his. Charles Wesley Godwin is supposed to have one too
This guy is signed to Zach Bryan's record label imprint, and released this last week. Quite enjoyable.
I know very little about country music outside of the shit I listened to with my parents when I was a kid growing up in the 90s. I did, however, see Charley Crockett tonight in Fort Wayne and came away extremely impressed. The man was outstanding.
