Hey, Dierks and Billy are for me. I was born in the 90's so excuse me. I like Cash, Kenny Rodgers, Strait etc, just not as much. thank you sir
I'm not a big country guy, but this is my buddy from college...he's good. I think Country is in good hands if you include Hayes, Lucero and DBT. Hayes Carll - She Left Me for Jesus
I'm guessing a lot of people here will laugh at me for this, but been rocking this a lot lately John Denver - Country Roads favorite of all time: Hank Williams Sr 'Someday You'll Call My Name' or A Picture of Me Without you, George Jones
Jason Isbell has a lot of country influences and I personally like him more than DBT now. Hayes Carll is really good, cool that you went to school with him.
also I found it disturbing that it took 13 pages and a kid from new england (me) for Hank Williams Sr to be mentioned in a thread about country music. Yall mentioned his grandson who isn't 1/10th the performer he was but not the original and goat country artist
Yea. I like some of his songs. Really fucked up guy though. Hangs out with the Wonderful Whites of West Virginia
firtst I've opened this thread and it was bc this came on my radio today his flows are nice Jason Aldean - Dirt Road Anthem (With Lyrics)
unless it was really expensive for the ticket it should be entertaining. his band was fun to watch and he brings out a different crowd.
Well, he lives in the Nashville area, so he is always around you, but to answer, yes, go see him. One of the best shows I have seen, but be warned, it will get heavy at times.
Definitely did. I can't believe some of my friends like it. I think they are just trying to justify it because it is EC. I like maybe 1/4 of the album. The first 2, there wasn't a song I didn't like.
Hah. Basically the same with me. My friend sent me a list of the songs he liked off of it and I just replied "Good Lord. " It is obvious Eric still did most (if not all) of the writing, but he softened the sound significantly. I would bet the concerts are still very good just like "Jack Daniels" has sounded much better acoustic than on the album. Of course he doesn't fucking come into the Southeast, so maybe not, and I won't get to see it anyway.
I feel like all of our friends should hang out and listen to shitty music together. Was talking with a buddy of mine last night about the album and when I told him I thought it sucked and that he had sold out, he was shocked and said he thought it was great stuff. Sigh...
This is more of the alt-country genre, but this guy is awesome. Lead singer of Lucero did a solo album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atuJzivuF1o
Their first record, The Steeldrivers, is one of my favorite bluegrass albums of all time. Every song on there is awesome, much better than Reckless IMO, I think I read they lost a member from the first album to Reckless. But yeah they're awesome singers voice is great
i am going to have to do more searching. i kind of stumbled across them on youtube recently. i love the harmonies they hit. also just stumbled across Punch Brothers version of ophelia , damn i miss some stuff.
