Might as well talk about it
So how deadly is it?
I think 3 out of 240 some have died, although several are in intensive care
I for one am excited for the SARS-like sensationalism from the media
I stand corrected
The CDC is screening travelers from China at 3 major international airports. Might not be enough.
Yeah, short of worst Korea, China is about the worst possible place for this to happen. We’ll likely never get the trust about its spread.
This is how every modern zombie/pandemic story starts.
It was nice knowing you all
The people are unconcerned. The CPC has it under control.
"China has a great medical system" - Lady wearing mask in public
I'm actually sick and back in the U.S. (pretty sure I got a bug in Vietnam or Singapore...long flights aren't good for health).
This was actually reported quite early in China, for the record. The numbers are no doubt being minimized, but the seriousness with which it is being handled is likely appropriate. Public health concerns are a pretty big deal with the near-term history in the region. Hong Kong was already on high alert before the Western world started hearing about it.
Oh thank God. I feel so much better now
You know the main reason why people wear masks, right?
BWC is patient zero in the US. You heard it here first.
wuhan? i hardly know him!
Goodbye Minneapolis and Denver
No one cared who they were before they put on the mask?
BWC i will pay for your travel to my house pls
If you wanna cuddle, you can just be direct and ask.
Maybe the mask wearers in the U.S.
i would think north korea would be a great place for an outbreak considering the limited travel that occurs within and into/out of the country
Problem is we'd never know about it until it spread elsewhere. Which it invariably would.
yean but dear leader would have no problem just burning the entire city or region that there's been sickness once they caught on
Wuhan Virus ain't nothing to fuck with.
Am I naive for theorizing that these coronaviruses aren’t actually that easily spread from human-to-human, which is why they always seem to occur in and be mostly limited to densely populated areas?
Interesting combination of username and comment
to hide their identities from the Seventh Cavalry, of course
Wuhan, I got you all in check
I’ll reiterate that it may be a naive question, but between SARS, SADS, MERS, Zika, Ebola, none really spread the globe on a large scale.
i wish that i could say it was nice knowing you rotten motherfuckers
The CDC has 36 Chambers set up in Atlanta alone.
Friend sent me a video today of a Hong Kong flight where people in white suits are thermo screening all the passengers.
Also, in 3 days starts the largest movement of people ever recorded with the lunar new year festivals. This is not good timing.
I’m going to Xian in 3 weeks for a month. Been nice knowing you guys.
Yeah, the timing is about as awful as can be. Markets frequented more, people moving everywhere. Not great, Bob.
Jelly you'll be in Xi'an for a month. One of my favorite places I've been in China so far.
Create an avatar before you leave so we'll have something to display at the wake
wish I could say the same, friend, but I have never seen you on the mainboard dot com before

Time to move to Madagascar, before the ship yard closes ofc.
A lot of Asian countries do that as a courtesy for when they’re sick to limit the spread of germs.
I'm in Hong Kong right now. I definitely have been avoiding riding the MTR just in case.
Gonna have to revoke your team board access until you submit full medical panels for review
I just got back from dinner at the dirtiest, sketchiest fish market I've ever been to. The food was incredible but I definitely walked out infected with something.
Enjoy shitting your intestines out
Zika and Ebola aren't coronavirus. Coronavirus can spread via respiratory secretions making them highly contagious. These viruses wi continue to mutate which will make it easier to transmit. Just think how easy it is to get a cold from someone. That is most likely a coronavirus.
This isn't even it's final form.
I watched a documentary on the Spanish Flu epidemic this weekend, so I’m an expert on this stuff.
