To be honest, I saw a betting spoiler (seriously lol who bets on WWE), that Jinder was the favorite earlier in the day, or maybe even last night. That said, I didn't think he was getting the title, just figured he'd win by DQ some how. Really expected that meant Rusev was coming out to interfere in some way.
He's a Vince project. There was zero chance he wasn't winning the tittle tonight. They had him beat AJ last Tuesday
Sami already talking about MitB. He needs to win it. Saw a great idea about his gimmick being over-analyzing on when to cash it in. Coming out a bunch and then doing the math and not cashing in.
Jinder was a jobber tag team partner of Rusev, then split and lost to Cesaro at Fastlane. Next TV appearance he loses to Reigns on RAW. He then doesn't win a jobbers "over the top rope" match on RAW. He gets jobbed out to a celeb at Mania. Then loses to Sami and Finn in back to back RAW before being sent to SD Live and losing again to a celeb and mojo. He then loses in a 6 man tag before all of a sudden winning a 6 pack challenge to be #1 contender??? Then he loses in a tag match the next SD and after one win v Sami Zayn, he is on a winning 6 man tag team before winning title tonight. So if my math is right this guy has won 3 total individual matches on TV or PPV in MONTHS, and a ton of losses and he is somehow the WWE champion. Is he the worst champion of all time (or in alternative worst booking prior to winning)?
I wasn't watching WWE at that time, but wasn't Khali at least built as a monster? I know his talent was shit, but at least didn't WWE build him to winning the title? I meant more they basically just took a jobber here and made him a champ with maybe 2-3 wins in between jobber and champ
Let's start with a field first. Sami, Corbin, Dillinger, KO, AJ, Orton Out of those, I'd say AJ. I want to say Sami after the win tonight, but I bet the use it to further the feud between Sami and Corbin for Summerslam.
If you want to go by record ... 2 of the last 3 champions now are pretty, pretty weak. We just happen to like one as one of them classy, fancy jobbers. Oh and
Only a little bit into the PPV. Holy cow "let's go grandma" has me dying. That's exactly the kind of match Raw would try and the crowd would hate. For some reason Smackdown has the benefit of the doubt.
They also understand the town they are in. If they attempted that match in El Paso the fans would sit on there hands. A great crowd who is into the product is so key when attempting crazy shit like that.
I do like that Vince will take chances on Smackdown. There is 0% chance he ever green lights this type of shit happening on RAW. I'm not a Jinder fan but in like 5 weeks he's more over as a heel champion then Rollins was when he had J&J security.
