I think with his work rate and look that he'd kill it in Japan. I think he'd fit in perfect if they slotted him into Bullet Club and let him stir up the pot there. Could end up with Cody or Omega getting booted out and having a face run. Or better yet, Omega leaves and comes to WWE and he could just slot right in there.
Holiday lull before the Rumble Cut the cord and got Sling, which has AXS Been binging on NJPW, it's pretty great
I hate that this is against bray because Vince is going to fuck it up but I can’t wait to see what ridiculous way he fucks it up
The real problem I have is the stuff leading up to Matt "breaking" in TNA was like half the saga. They just did this on a random Raw out of nowhere, it's not going to get and stay over. They've already fucked the story.
Yea the lead uphas just been Matt losing like weekly since Jeff got hurt til the gimmick was released
I have a hard time watching Matt try to wrestle. He's so stiff and his matches are boring. He's very limited in what he does and I usually fast forward through his matches.
That Riot Squad segment was awful....Turned a violent heel squad that beats down people into whining to GM. Then it turns into all 6 women wanting a title shot and Daniel Bryan tells them it is a lumberjack match and they will be on outside and for some reason that satisfies everyone, even though none of them get a title shot....plus all the Riot Squad members are awful on the mic
While I agree that they fucked up on building to him breaking/waking, I think it can still get/stay over. Enough of the audience is aware of at least the gist of his TNA run for there to be buy-in now. As for staying over, that's mainly up to WWE continuing to give Matt tv time to keep the hardcores vested and the casuals aware until he can get in front of a good wrestling town like Chicago, Philly, or NYC, who I think play a huge role in midcard acts getting a bigger push.
Eh, the majority of the audience is not aware of what TNA is doing, that's just Internet fans. But I agree there is a burden on WWE to keep it over. Which is why I have no faith they will.
It’s exactly why I had hoped they wouldn’t start it with Bray because now it just going to feel like more weird Bray shit to the audience that doesn’t know the background
Watched the opening segment smackdown, paused it to go cook dinner, came back an hour later, fast forwarded straight through until I caught up to live, then changed the channel to a rerun of Tosh and played xbox for the last half houR of the show Vince, that’s how entertaining your product is right now. You should probably do something about it.
Who would have thought putting the title on the best wrestler in your company would help the brand? Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to win the WWE Championship on the November 7th edition of SmackDown, and according to WrestlingNewsWorld.com, the blue blue brand's viewership has been up every week since "The Phenomenal One" won the title: November 7th: 2.603 million November 14th: 2.607 million November 21st: 2.662 million November 28th: 2.680 million Also, prepare for a brand shake up soon And it's shown. According to WrestlingInc.com, last week's "SmackDown, featuring Kevin Owens defeating Randy Orton in a No DQ main event, drew 2.680 million viewers" and was within 100,000 viewers of the same week's episode of Raw: In comparison, Monday's RAW drew 2.759 million viewers, down from last week's 3.074 million viewers. It beat SmackDown by only 3%, which is the smallest margin between the two shows this year. That also is the closest SmackDown viewership has come to beating Raw's since December 2016, when the blue brand actually toppled the red brand in the ratings while, you guessed it, Styles was holding the WWE Championship. Now, SmackDown is in prime position to overtake Raw once again both as WWE's best weekly show and in terms of generating the highest average viewing audience. https://www.forbes.com/sites/blakeo...j-styles-is-the-main-reason-why/#3c93b1347b63
Also, Smackdown sucked this week except for the start and the end. This Daniel Bryan/Shane thing has potential to be huge. It will be interesting to see, does Bryan go heel or does Shane? Clearly the more interesting angle is Owens and Zayn were right, Shane is corrupt. Shane turns heel and its Owens/Zayn/Bryan vs Shane and Co. However they'll try to turn Bryan heel and the crowd won't buy it and they'll just scrap the story line.
Its no surprise that Smackdown viewership is up... The biggest story lines going are Owens/Zayn/Shane.... Plus AJ is champion. RAW is giving up Roman/Shield poor reboot and Kane. Smackdown has been very strong and RAW outside of being good this Monday has blown dick for a few weeks.
While my kids are counting down the days until Christmas, this is about the time of year I start counting down the days until the Royal Rumble and the second best wrestling day of the year, when Bankz does the Royal Rumble lotto.
What do you even do with Rousey? Make her a Brock Lesnar super boss that just squashes everybody? Because no one on the roster poses a legitimate threat to her. Only interesting thing I can think of is her tearing through Absolution on her way to a showdown with Asuka.
LOL, like Stephanie will let that happen. It's going to be her and Rousey. This has been set up for a couple of years now.
Four HorseWomen vs Four HorseWomen at Mania. Allows you to break Rousey in slowly, and expose the mainstream media to Charlotte, Sasha, Becky, and Bayley. Build up to a match with Charlotte (who's physically imposing and enough of an athlete to be believable vs Rousey), and then eventually a match with Asuka.
I'll probably open it up right after Christmas... gives us a few weeks I think that would be a IWC dream match but we likely get Rousey vs Charlotte or 4 horsewomen vs 4 horsewomen
Going back to the Shane vs Bryan thing. I hope it results in Orton turning heel again because he's so fucking boring in his role now. They'd need to add more than Orton unless they are cutting Owens and Zayn out of the program somehow and making Bryan the focal point of everything. Who else on the Smackdown roster could be thrown in with Shane and Orton that makes sense?
