I might drive to Chicago and buy a ticket off a outside scalper for a ludicrous price my damn self if Okada vs. Punk happens.

I feel like punk ain't doing nothing but training MMA after getting embarrassed by ole boy whoever a while ago.

Even if you've been doing something at a high level for 15-20 years prior you take a break to do pursue something else I imagine your not going to be as good the day you return to your old job. Rust and all that.

 

I figure Punk will just show up and say a few words. But yeah I think he's ready/scheduled for another MMA fight already.

All In selling out so quick is good news though. With that demand I'm hopeful someone ends up streaming it. Twitch might be most likely. Doesn't seem like there are any plans to stream yet, but I'd buy whatever service for a month to check this shit out.

Cliffs for All In since I recently got them myself: Basically Cody and the Young Bunks producing their own show after Russo, I think, said that a one off show or they couldn't sell out an arena, something along those lines. Lots of ROH and NJPW talent signing on, but some other random talents as well.

 

I'd also gladly pay to watch, even just on principle, should be a fun show with an insane atmosphere though

 

Doubt they stream or else what would be the point of buying a ticket and going to the show?

Maybe the sell video of it a la PWG later on though.

For this show in particular I think the bucks/rhodes are selling this as the kind of show that will help the wrestling industry as a whole and selling it to people that are fans of non-wwe stuff feel some sort of kinship toward making the indie wrestling world better.

So you want to buy a ticket in order to be a part of that and if you're the bucks/rhodes you don't want to put anything in the way that disregard someone from buying a ticket in any way. Make sense?

 

That was the fairy tale version. To be way more cynical about this.

Streaming rights are probably a drop in the bucket and frankly it could take away from a budget that got to be way more focused on advertisement and making sure the people that bought a ticket actually show up and make the venue happy by buying 10 dollar drinks and what have you.

Nothing going to allow them to break anywhere close to even on this like asses in seats period. That's why I doubt they would stream this.

 

At the same time, the more exposure for these guys at an event not under the direction of a promotion with an agenda is a big deal. As much as there building a kinship in independent wrestling, that still means the ultimate goal is to build them strong enough to not just be WWE/NXT feeders. And wrestlers generally want more eyes. More eyes is more money. More money Iis more independence from WWE.

 

I think the rumor was either having Sinclair help with IPPV setup or something with twitch like Dreamer does with HoH

 

Honestly twitch and Facebook probably make the most sense. They'd be free for the public, and probably would have less overhead associated with them instead of going through Sinclair or NJPWorld since I imagine both would want a significant cut.

They aired an All In press conference on twitch yesterday I believe.

You are going to give Ronda a title shot with no build?

 

Random guess, but I think they're going to reboot her character. Introduce the 4 horse women all at once and have them cheat Nia, turn Ronda heel which she should have been from the start.

 

Shayna just became NXT champ, the other two just started in the performance center and apparently have no training in wrestling prior to joining. They are currently among a long storyline of Sasha and Bayley turning on each other. It seems like a bad time for that storyline.

I guess maybe they realize Nia is an awful champ, and want belt off her quickly? She can't talk or go in the ring, any feud with her that is not being dragged up to relevance by great promo work from Alexa is going to be garbage. Maybe they are also worried about viewership and losing people after the awful PPV they just had? I don't know, seems rushed and out of nowhere.

 

Interested move. One one hand I don’t see how you can give the title to someone who has wrestled for 6 months and has only one sideshow type match under their belt. One the other hand I don’t see how you can bring Rousey in with all the fanfare and hype and then have her lose to Nia

 

I guess they are also scrapping the "feud" with Ronda and Mickie James.

The fact they announced it now instead of having a storyline leading to this match makes me think it is a panic move to try and get a boost in ratings.

 

Will putting the belt on Rousey make any of that better? She did better than expected at Mania but let’s not misunderstand her level in the ring or on the mic. She still green AF

 

I have already seen enough to know she is better in the ring than Nia is, but they are banking on her name recognition to get people to watch. I am worried about her getting a little bit of the Roman Reigns treatment though if WWE already is having her in title fights as her first singles match. Fans may turn on her. Also putting her in the ring for her 2nd match v. Nia is going to be hard for her to get any sort of a classic match out of it. They should have her working with someone who can sell better to make Ronda look strong.

not sure how wrestling fans would react...but in a way Ronda has already proved herself in the ring with her fighting resume. So if you include that as part of her life story and being worthy of a champion in a wrestling ring, I think it makes sense.

Reigns doesn't have the background. So he gets chances based on nothing. It's different at least how my mind works.

 

I agree with you, I am a big Ronda fan and I find her credible because of her MMA background, but not all WWE fans follow MMA. That was not my opinion, just something I worried about the WWE fans doing.

 

Or have whoever wins cash in and sneak the win.

Either way this needs to lead to a program with Nattie or Mickie. Someone with plenty of experience to work with.

They sort of painted themselves in the corner since Nia has been pretty dominant. Rhoda seems like the most logical kayfabe choice. But irl, woof.

 

But with Ronda her fame transcends MMA followers. So there's a myth about her even if you never saw her fight (when she was dominant). Like I wouldn't say the same for any of the other mma women currently coming through.

Have Charlotte win MiTB and cash in immediately on Ronda and switch brands. SD got Asuka so they can survive, kayfabe send Alexa or someone over to SD to make a trade. Sets up the Ronda v. Charlotte feud. That may be a match you want to save until Mania however.

I didn't think that, but I still expected her to be around more then Brock

 

I'd say she's been on more than Brock since she signed, just not that many matches. I think she's wrestled a few dark matches after raw too for more in ring work

Why would the champion be the challenger?

 

It would have only made sense if Ronda had a nice streak going and Nia was like "I'm tired of this trash, give me a real challenge, I want Ronda." Like for Summer Slam.

Instead we got giggly schoolgirl "hey well you don't have my title," "well I've only had one match, I don't deserve it," "fight me lol."

watched the All In press conference, pretty sure the host was one of those FSU girls with Lana back in the day btw, but basically they said that at the moment there aren't any plans to stream, but if the demand is there (this was hours before tickets went on sale), it could be something they'd look into, and there are options on the table

also just realized it's the same Saturday as the opening weekend of college football, which kinda sucks
