I'm not sure who's responsible for the Mixed Match Challenge but its the best thing going on in WWE right now
Raven spoke with Title Match Wrestling about his run in ECW, the original plan for his ECW character and more. Highlights are below, per Wrestling Inc: On getting too connected with his in-ring character: “I didn’t realize how personal it was gonna become, and then the character became so personal, so art imitated life, but then life started to imitate art when I started to become a bigger, you know, getting worse in drugs and alcohol. Because, in some perverse way, I was trying to stay true to who I created, to Raven, even though Raven was based on me. So, art imitated life, but then life started to imitate art, and that’s when things went downhill.” On companies creating characters for wrestlers: “It’s not like in Hollywood where they have people whose job it is to cast parts, but that is what happens. Like, they’ll come up with an idea and say, ‘We need a pirate. Let’s make this guy a pirate because he has a glass eye or something.’ And that’s how roles are cast in the wrestling business, but in the old days [of] the business, you became who you wanted to become, and if it sold, it sold, and if it didn’t sell, then you would go back to the drawing board, or you get out of the business, or went into construction or something.” On the original idea for his character: “The original idea was I was gonna come in for three months to get [Tommy] Dreamer over. Paul E. [Heyman] didn’t realize what I was doing with the character. He thought I was going to do like a misfit grungy [character], but still a comedy character, because that’s all I’ve done before was chicken s**t heels. And that’s what he thought it was gonna be. But when he saw it wasn’t, that’s when the wheels started turning, and I told Paul E. before we even moved forward [and] even realized that’s what it was, I said look, if you want me to get him over quick, we need to have a back story. Because, if we have a back story, there’s already an emotional investment tied in, we can skip three months of programming, we can just jump into the meat of the programming if there’s a back story. So I came up with the back story when he gave me Stevie [Richards].” On Heyman booking Dreamer to beat him before he left: “He couldn’t know that I’d be back in two years, and he couldn’t count on that. And he had to get his mileage out of me. I had to put Tommy over to finally give catharsis to the feud, but in hindsight, sure, we never should have done it. Me and Tommy both thought we never should have done it, but from Paul E.’s point of view, we absolutely had to do it. I totally see that.”

Always thought he was going to end up being a way bigger star than he actually became. Him going to WCW when he did instead of WWE was a big mistake. Raven and his flock or whatever they fuck they became in WCW couldn't compete with NWO as a stable, plus he could have been amazing when the WWE essentially co-opted ECW during the attitude era.
Love they are adding another belt. They have so much talent in NXT that kind of gets lost in the shuffle because of only 1 title. Wonder if War Machine shows up and wrecks everyone after the tag match
Rumor is 205 is going to get tag titles or 6 man titles. Oh lord 6 man 205 at this level. Take me now... I think it will be tag... they seem to be forming alliances via promos.
NXT plans far ahead and makes things amazing... NXT show will be the best thing anyone puts on during Mania... including the ROH/NJPW stuff.
Money in the Bank is coming to Chicago but I might just take my boys to the Takeover the night before instead.
Don't think Black wins the title yet either unless Vince wants a Mexican star to pump following Mania
I've never watched one and thought....meh that was just ok let alone actually been disappointed by the event.
How long until they put the US title on Almas and have him saying Mexico is great and America sucks? 1 month?
The situation regarding Rey Mysterio’s injury status have become a bit clearer. The Wrestling Observer reports that Mysterio’s injury suffered at a Northeast Wrestling show on Saturday was a Grade One partial tear of the left biceps. That is not considered to be a serious injury, thougvh there is no word on when he’ll be able to work in the ring.
Spoiler: Fastlane betting odds WWE Fastlane Betting Odds * WWE Championship 6 Pack Challenge: AJ Styles(c) -800 vs. John Cena +750 vs. Sami Zayn +850 vs. Kevin Owens +900 vs. Baron Corbin +1000 vs. Dolph Ziggler +1200 * Smackdown Women’s Championship: Charlotte Flair(c) -1000 vs. Ruby Riott +500 * United States Championship: Bobby Roode(c) -120 vs. Randy Orton -120 * Smackdown Tag Team Championship: The Usos(c) -175 vs. The New Day +125 * Shinsuke Nakamura +800 vs. Rusev +450 * Becky Lynch & Naomi -150 vs. Natalya & Carmella +110
Surely New Day vs Usos will stretch into Mania right? I'm not sure what else makes sense. Could see it being a three way match of some sort.
Bludgeon Brothers are so damn corny/cringy, I can't take them seriously with their awkward synchronization.
Luke Harper is basically better at everything than Baron Corbin. Don't know why they didn't push him more after the Family broke up
They had him in the world title picture... They had Bray relevant... Then they gave us Orton and Jinder
Right thats kinda what I meant. The fans were really behind him and then he lost to Orton and they just dropped him. Honestly its even weirder what they've done with Corbin. In a match with Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, and Shinsuke Nakamura they let that jobber win the money in the bank briefcase then had him randomly dump it to an even bigger jobber on a Smackdown. That makes no sense at all
I do previews myself. This one reflects a lack of enthusiasm for Sunday, as does my preview. They may be better off doing away with Fastlane next year.
Why does a public company have co-presidents? Don't think I have ever seen that. Also, Mrs. HHH at 2 is stupid. Like Vince booking stupid
As previously noted, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com reported that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are currently scheduled for the Andre The Giant battle royal despite recently being involved in a storyline with Shane McMahon. During his recent podcast, Brad Shepard of BodySlam.net discussed Shane McMahon's potential opponent for Wrestlemania: “It looks like plans have recently changed and now Shane McMahon’s match, it sounds like his opponent will be Dolph Ziggler. From what I’ve been told, that’s what they are looking to do.” Shepard continued, “Shane has got to have his match and Dolph has never had a singles match at WrestleMania. It will be a good match, that’s fine. Not everything I am dying to see but.. That will be something to watch for if they do go with that — we should start seeing that build soon.”
I was wondering why fast lane spoilers were posted, I didn't even realize that was tonight. I kind of gave up on SD lately
