I'm the biggest Edge mark itt... Top 10 no questions for me. So underrated as a performer. So many amazing matches and moments dude was just money...

Eddie's real run got cut off so short... he had so much more potential as a character/wrestler. Still one to ever do it with a shorter resume

So, I haven't watched the rasslin' in a long time, but randomly DVR'd Raw last week (kids have been watching the Scooby Doo/WWE movie lately which prompted me to get 2K18 which made me wonder who the fuck these characters are?).
After watching I have one question: what the fuck is a "Woken" Matt Hardy?

It's a persona he came up with while a part of a different wrestling company, except it was called Broken ( he won the legal battle, so it may change to Broken). Anyway, it was pretty entertaining, but it's been watered down in WWE.

The Sam Roberts recently interviewed WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. Below are some additional highlights from the show, with Booker T talking about his issues with the nWo in WCW (transcript via WrestlingInc.com).

Booker T on how the nWo messed up the business since the bad guys were getting cheers from the fans: “I had a match with a good friend of mine, we’re really close, a partner of mine in the Main Event Mafia, big Kevin Nash. I had a match with Kevin Nash and it was my first match in Canada, in Toronto, Canada. He had been there many, many times before and people loved him as Diesel. And now, he’s coming back in WCW and he’s still Diesel to those fans over there in Canada. He went out there with nWo and he gave everyone the nWo kiss, the little kiss sign that they would do. ‘nWo in the house!’ Everybody in the crowd erupted. And I’m back in the back listening to all of this like, ‘he’s the bad guy!’ I walked out of the curtain and they played my music, and I walked out of the curtain, and they booed the crap out of me. That’s when I knew the nWo, the bad guys, [were] killing the business because they didn’t want the heat. They wanted the adulation. The nWo almost singlehandedly ruined the business as far as good guys, bad guys, cowboys, and Indians. You don’t want to mess that up.”

Booker T on why Hulk Hogan’s heel turn was problematic because he’d still act like a babyface and get cheers: “The thing was with WCW, the big thing was turning Hulk Hogan heel. Hulk Hogan being a bad guy. We shouldn’t do this. People don’t want to see Hulk Hogan as the bad guy. Hulk Hogan is the ultimate good guy. So we say, ‘okay, we’re going to turn him into the bad guy.’ We turned Hulk Hogan into the bad guy with the nWo and Hulk Hogan, but is still the good guy! That made no sense to me! And I was right in the middle of it, watching it, and I was like, ‘wait a minute! He’s still going out there and doing the same thing! People love him! He’s not a bad guy! What’s going on here?'”

Booker T on how Kevin Nash offered him a spot in the nWo and how he refused the offer: “Kevin Nash came to me, he goes, ‘Book, hey, Book, man, you know this nWo thing is getting real hot, bro. And, man, we need some color, man.’ I swear to God, that’s how he said it! ‘We need some color, bro.’ He goes, ‘we want to bring you in.’ I go, ‘man, thanks, but no thanks. No way.’ I said, ‘I’m a solo act, man.'”

The Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast recently interviewed actor and former WCW world heavyweight champion David Arquette. Arquette addresses becoming champion and the negative backlash his title reign received. Below are some of the highlights from the interview, courtesy of the podcast.

David Arquette on the backlash of his title reign: “Yeah I know. The problem with that is I’m used as the example of like this decision was worse than when David Arquette got the belt. I’m always like the example and I’m the joke in a sense and I get it. I like to think of myself as the only fan that became a champion. I totally understand that other wrestlers were fans but they are professional wrestlers too, I am literally man on the street and became the champion. I don’t know how I am going to prove myself in the wrestling world and I’m going to have to do something at some point just to bring some respect to my name.”

David Arquette on how he didn’t want to win the belt when he was approached with the idea: “It all is kind of blurry to me to be honest and I was just kind of going along with it and there was a lot of people exactly telling me what to do and I didn’t know that in one of my first matches I was doing Scotty Too Hotty’s move and that I had to wait for the crowd to say stuff and people just kind of threw me out there and asked what could I do? Well I could do anything because I was a black belt in Yoshukai Karate at the time and I can actually kind of fight but they had a big insurance policy on me so I couldn’t get hurt and nobody wanted me to beat them up so everyone had to beat me up (which is often the harder role in wrestling) but I enjoyed the experience. For me, I get to fly around with Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair and talk to them about Andre the Giant and all these legends and that is pretty much why I wanted to do it. I am from an acting family that goes back to Vaudeville so to me it is really kind of similar to the wrestling world as far as generational and almost like a carny lifestyle where you are on the road and I loved the opportunity to do that but I didn’t need to be the champion.”

His thoughts on Vince Russo: “He was really nice to me when I met him and I have nothing but respect for him. He does get a lot of the flack for what happened and people blame me for killing WCW. That was a battle that was going on hard and I still think that it is a shame that WCW the brand has been killed. Even if WWE just owned it and split it apart and used it as a foil for themselves because that was when it was always so fun and when both of them were going it was like a huge wrestling kind of moment where you have these two large organizations that are competing but now it is pretty interesting that there is all these little kind of up and coming (where they’ve always been there) with the invention of the internet and what Billy Corgan and Dave Lagana are doing at NWA is exciting I think there is going to be a lot more excitement and the fact that you can get everything on the internet is kind of bridging all these gaps and people are learning about different wrestlers and seeing matches online, I think it is pretty exciting and it is leading up to another rebirth of a really great time for wrestling.”

David Arquette on the differences between Hollywood and wrestling: “I was super-surprised. I was totally sort of lost and again I didn’t get that wasn’t a lot of rehearsal, there wasn’t a lot of preparation, there wasn’t a lot of walking through because those things kind of move fast anyway. You are moving from town to town and you are getting there and eating at the thing, you are eating something and going back to your hotel and than you maybe go over something a second but it just left a lot of things really unclear for me. I didn’t know all of the stuff you could do, like I didn’t know you could say I don’t want to get punked like that or that you can beat me up but make it like I really got hurt or something or let me try a move. The only move I got them to let me do was jumping off the top rope in the triple cage match because I always loved Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka but they wouldn’t even let me land on somebody or hit somebody. Nobody wanted me to hit them and nobody wanted where I could hurt them.”

David Arquette on if he anticipated the backlash: “I didn’t even at all understand the impact of it and or like how sacred it is held. I tried to give it respect on my own and in general with my actions but I always wanted to take the belt out to fans because that is the other thing they give you the belt and you are in charge of it. I was like what? You have to travel with it and you can’t check it, you’ve got to carry it on and you’ve got to bring it everywhere and you are in charge of it so I’d bring it around to all of the fans and let them take pictures of it and I tried to be respectful. When you mention a guy like Harley Race that sort of legendary status that is obvious why people would get upset.”

“One of the things I did put together was I was shooting “3,000 Miles To Graceland” at the time and I had to go up to Toronto and my wife was there and she was filming a scene with Kurt Russell and I put together the little promo of her and Kurt Russell which is the only one I got to work on because I was up there alone and got a film crew so I kind of was able to put my own spot together and that was a fun little piece and I got Kurt Russell and Courtney Cox on WCW so that was fun too.”

David Arquette on Kid Rock’s induction and if that makes it possible for him to get inducted since he previously guest hosted WWE Raw: “I think and I totally approve of Kid Rock and he’s got that whole vibe that is right but he was never the Champion. That’s not my place to say that I should be in it or whatever but I was going through a divorce at the time (of RAW) so I was a little crazy and I had lost my voice and I took it upon myself to put down New Orleans (which I love that city) but I was just kind of playing the heel for a moment because I get it to get the crowd to hate you. But it was amazing to get put through a table by Randy Orton, I love that stuff and to me that was a fun opportunity and I really respect what WWE has done and the whole business and the history and what Vince McMahon’s done in general with that business is just remarkable because they are super-smart. The whole family being involved I love all of that. So I am just good doing my thing and I’d love to be included in the world a little and I’ve been asked and I always find that a little hard to do because it is kind of odd but I like meeting the fans and I like all that so some point it will make sense to do something that might bring me back into the world a little more.”

Daniel Bryan spoke with The National and said that he’s hoping to be cleared to compete at WrestleMania 34. Highlights from the interview are below:

On possibly competing in a tag match with Shane McMahon against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania: “I don’t know and I don’t think they know. I think it all depends on whether or not I get cleared. As of this moment, as of today, I am not cleared by WWE. I have done everything in my power. Everything they have asked me to and I have gone above and beyond as far as ‘Okay, what doctors do you need me to see. Send me to any doctor you want, any doctor that you want and lets get their feedback on what is going on with me.’ So far every doctor has cleared me that they have sent me too and so there is a chance. I used to think that the percentage of the WWE ever clearing me was low. I think with the stuff that I have done it has gone a little higher but I don’t know how much higher. With how everything is there is one day to go if I don’t get cleared [storyline wise] and then there is another way to go if I am cleared. I am hoping to be cleared but I don’t know which way it goes.”

On comparisons between him and Owens/Zayn: “I think there is so much that is similar between me, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. In terms of where we come from and also kind of the perception of some of the people in the office about Sami and Kevin and the way that people perceived me as far as thinking ‘Sami Zayn does not have the look to be a top level WWE Superstar.’ But he has the ability. Like people connect with him and I think the same thing with Kevin Owens and I think that makes it a very natural storyline to tell.”

On his memories from WrestleMania 30: “It is interesting. Because when I think of the memories honestly I think of the night [itself] because everything else was a blur. We were filming my wife’s reality TV show and then the WWE cameras were following me around. My wife and I were also getting married the following Friday. Then you have all the appearances you have during WrestleMania week. So, as far as that goes, the week itself was a blur. If you were to ask me where anything was in New Orleans I would have no idea. I don’t even remember what the back stage arena looks like because I was hustling back and forth so much. I hurt my shoulder pretty bad in the first match and then I ended up having neck surgery and having a horrible pain down my arm at the time. After the first match I was getting taped up and trying to get myself back to where I could compete so it will be interesting to go back there and be like ‘Oh, this is what the arena is like.'”

    – Jeff Jarrett spoke with Booker T on the latter’s Heated Conversations podcast about the infamous Bash at the Beach 2000 segment with Hulk Hogan. Jarrett was set to defend the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Hogan, but Vince Russo had Jarrett lay down in the ring so Hogan could pin him. Russo fired Hogan after the match and said Jarrett was still champion, after which Jarrett faced Booker and the latter won his first world title.

Highlights from the appearance are below, via Wrestling Inc:

On the Bash at the Beach 2000 segment: “One of the things that come to my mind as I have shared the last couple of years is that you [Booker T] and I both lived through that myth known as Bash at the Beach, and at the end of the night, when you and me were put in an awkward position because of all the B.S., but what I had said was that match was one of my all-time favorites because of the set of circumstances. Where I was going with this is that we both like old and new school, but Booker T, what you did you did very good, you didn’t have to do 15,000 moves, you did your set of moves that flat out got over and stayed over. That is what I have seen it a lot more now, from 2005-2014, there have been guys that tried 50 different moves in one match, and you tell them to take a breather and cut out 80% of it, but that 20% you do, do it really well. Guys that are developing, that are just standing out, they are doing just enough and doing it really well, and I believe that is the secret to something that is missed.”

On how much he knew before the segment: “I have gone on record. I wish I can give you a big, juicy story that can make headlines, but I knew something was up a little bit going into the weekend because I couldn’t get a clear answer on anything. Then, that day, I’m not pointing the finger at anybody, it was the system, so I didn’t know a whole lot. It was one thing to another, to another, then got shifted. Johnny Ace was there; it was a big bucket of stew that didn’t taste very well from anybody. I did say, as I said in multiple interviews when I get asked about that; everyone wants to know about the Hulk Hogan situation and the politics behind that; sort of the hidden gem is that we closed the show, you were crowned champion in very difficult circumstances, but we went out and did business and I am pretty proud of that.”

During his recent podcast with Christian, Edge commented on John Cena's promo about The Undertaker from last week's RAW:

"The John Cena promo, I thought it was pretty hokey. I'm not going to lie. It was cool at some points, but then it was very… I don't know, just a very hokey delivery. And I know that's Cena's schtick sometimes, but it just didn't feel like this was the moment or the opponent for that, I think. That was my gut when I first watched it. Yeah, I don't know."

"I think that's a huge, massive match and I'm glad the crowd reacted the way they did and I didn't even mind the going into the crowd thing, like, the way they're setting this up like if he doesn't have this match, or he doesn't have this match, or he doesn't have this match, he'll go and pay to sit in the audience. I guess it was just when it got to talking about The Undertaker stuff, it just didn't feel quite as… I don't know. I don't even know how to put my finger on it. I guess it's just sometimes it's kind of hokey delivery can kind of work, but in that instance, it just didn't work for me."

"I mean, John never sounds like he's at a loss for words. It's a good promo. I don't know. I guess it's just the tone of it. I don't know. I don't know even how to put my finger on it. That just feels like one of those promos that should be nothing but serious, I guess. I don't know. I don't know. I'd have to watch it again, obviously. I could completely backtrack on everything I'm saying right now, but my gut was like, 'huh, that was odd.' Yeah, but they'll have such an iconic match. But we called it, brother-brother! I don't know if it'll be career vs. career like I think it should be."

Ronda Rousey discussed the difference in working for Dana White and Vince McMahon in a new interview. Speaking with The Mirror, Rousey said her relationship with White is more personal, while McMahon is more professional.

“Dana is one of my best friends and is somebody who I can call up any time and say let’s go for dinner, or drinks or even something completely random like asking him to fly to India, and he’d consider it,” she said. “I don’t even have Vince’s number! It’s a very different relationship, I highly respect Vince and very much appreciate the opportunity he’s given me but it’s more like, if I can get a handshake from him and him telling me I’ve done a good job, that totally makes my day. With Dana, I’d expect him to grab me, hug me, pick me up and shake the hell out of me! If Dana just shook my hand and told me good job, I’d be like ‘what the hell Dana, that’s it?!’ But with Vince McMahon, I’d be like, ‘Oh my God, Vince McMahon shook my hand and told me I did a good job!’ It’s very different, I have a much more personal relationship with Dana, and a very professional relationship with Vince.”
