Me and my buddies were having a debate, what was the worst booked thing in 2018? My argument is Nakamura not going over at Mania and moving AJ to Raw. Others mentioned have been Rusev and Braun not getting World championships when they were White hot. Asuka being buried after Mania. The whole bullet club/Golden Lovers/Elite/Firing squad angle.
That NJPW stuff was awful... I think some are saying that the guys leaving for AEW played into it some. WWE not striking on a white hot Rusev and a white hot Braun in favor of putting over Brock and Taker was really bad. Naka will never be a world champ on the main roster. He just can’t cut a promo consistently. I wish WWE would do more pre taped stuff and maybe caption his live promo. It’s scripted anyways. I think the biggest WWE flub was not giving Samoa Joe the strap for a few months against AJ. They should’ve let him win the belt at Summer Slam
I’m going to do the Royal Rumble Drawing on Thursday. Thinking thinking thinking it will be at 9est and pariscoped live for the Millionssssssss and Milllllllliiiiiiiiioooooonnnnnsssss of Bankz fans. #WWE bigpig
Braun not having the title while he was extremely hot and a legit monster made no sense. They built him up almost to give him to Brock so the Taker match seemed more important. I'll never understand the need for Brock to have the title. He doesn't need a title to define him. He will be must see TV no matter what as long as they keep letting him be himself. Felt like they really missed a chance to give another "monster" a legit run and they squandered it.
They have overpowered Brock so much, as well as limited his appearances so much, they basically have no idea how to use him without the title. He's not going to have a random feud with someone like Sheamus. They have no idea how to write a feud for him that doesn't feature him as the prize to be conquered, and even if they did, he's not around enough to make it work. Giving him a title that people have to be built up to challenge, then bringing him back as Goro at the end of the tournament is basically the only story they know how to tell.
Samoa Joe only reading one bedtime story. Imma need a couple more of those. A legit answer though, would be the Samoa Joe and AJ angle. I think that bit went on for a bit too long.
Brock could drop the strap. Lose in UFC and your next top guy could call him out for not being the beast and losing to a over the hill UFC fighter. Go from there. You can call out his testing positive for banned substances. How about just someone wanting to see if they match up with the beast. If they are simply good enough. There are ways... but they choose to be lazy.
So Sasha Banks apparently had a minor wardrobe malfunction last night, I’ll put the clip in spoilers and mark it NSFW. Spoiler
So was that an attempt to turn Asuka heel? I can dig it, because there’s no way the WWE universe is going to turn on Becky.
You serious? I chuckled hard when charlotte flair tried to get the crowd to “wooooo” and all they did was chant Becky lynch louder
...yes? Charlotte said something about facing Sasha or Rhonda if she won the Rumble, so by the powers of deductive reasoning I'm assuming that means they're facing off.
-Ronda praised Sasha on a moment of bliss -Banks beats Nia for #1 contender spot -They team up the next week and win, Ronda says something about “it’ll be an honor to tap you out” -Banks doesn’t like comment, which starts war of words, fueling the rivalry for the match
I like how you genuinely forget Orton's with the company still until he RKO's out of nowhere, cool close to the show
It looks like some NXT female talent have been tweeting about the tag titles... curious if they will defend them on RAW, Smackdown and NXT
