I honestly took Mick’s promo to be... hey we have this cool new title that will be defended everywhere AND the third hour of RAW will now be more edgy and have a new look moving forward. Sort of a double announcement he delivery correctly. Made sense if he was rattled because the live crowd shit in the tittle.
The Blood Money PPV really just kills the normal run of PPVs. Plus you have guys like Bryan, KO, Zayn who refuse to perform there. So storylines are fucked. It’s why they took DB off tv, KO not in the title picture and Sami getting beat. Blood money shouldn’t be a advertised show. Sure have it on the network but make it a stand alone and make the matches in advance with no build. Essentially a house show. Trying to force storylines in a two week build is awful
I'm not a promoter or anything, but I feel like it would make a ton of sense if they gave Double or Nothing away for free as their tv debut instead of streaming it for $50. give people a reason to tune into the product for the first time and reach as many households as possible.
That's why they have the TV deal with TNT. I'm not sure they stand to gain anything by giving a one off event away for free. Where they're going to gain fans is their weekly TV product, which doesn't start for a few more months.
true, it would probably make sense to do something like this closer to the tv start. I do think a big ratings number from giving away a PPV event for free would work great to generate buzz, but you're right it's probably too far out for that to make sense now.
I'd imagine they're using this to see how big their paying audience is at the moment too, even if the number's probably inflated a bit due to it being the first show
I've already done part 1 which is create a B/R Live account and add it to my Roku... Little bit (a lot) of alcohol tomorrow and it'd take a few seconds to order the PPV. RIP.
Double Or Nothing Predictions.... The Buy In Casino Battle Royale (Sonny Kiss, Brandon Cutler, Ace Romero, Glacier, Brian Pillman Jr., Sunny Daze, MJF, Joey Janela, Dustin Thomas, Billy Gunn, Jimmy Havoc, Michael Nakazawa, Jungle Boy, Isaiah Kennedy, Marq Quen, Luchasaurus, Shawn Spears and more) Kip Sabian vs Sammy Guevara Double or Nothing Best Friends vs Angelico / Jack Evans Aja Kong / Yuka Sakazaki / Emi Sakura vs Hikaru Shida / Riho Abe / Ryo Mizunami SCU vs Strong Hearts Britt Baker vs Kylie Rae vs Nyla Rose AAA World Tag Title Match: Young Bucks vs Luch Bros Cody vs Dustin Rhodes Hangman Page vs ??? Kenny Omega vs Chris Jericho
Battle Royale (w/ Cheese) - Jon Moxley Sammy G, that asshole BFFs Hikaru/Riho/Ryo - My biggest question is if they play Yuka's music, the most insane thing you will hear this year Spoiler AYAYAYAYAYAYAYA Strong Hearts Nyla Lucha Brahs Cody No idea on what Hangman does Kenny O
Battle Royale - Winner gets put into the main event for the next PPV to face winner of Jericho/Omega. I'm saying we see a huge surprise at 21 and its gonna be my predicted winner. CM Punk Sammy Guevara Best Friends Aja Kong and company SCU Nyla Rose Lucha Bros Cody - Seems like the're already setting up a Jericho vs Cody story line. Jon Moxley - I keep going back and fourth on who surprises when. I've settled on Punk in the battle royale and Moxley here. Omega - Omega is the super star on this roster. He goes on to face Punk at the next PPV for the first world title.
You guys are going to get Joey Ryan and Marty Martinez as the big surprises and be pissed but I'll be shoveling the popcorn in my face.
I think #21 will be Hangman, he said on the latest episode of Being the Elite he's not cleared to wrestle on Double or Nothing, so I think it'll be a little play on that and he'll enter #21 and win. Sammy G makes the most sense to me based on the social media stuff leading up the event but I'm not familiar with either guy really. Angelico & Jack Evans Seems Aja Kong side is more of the veterans with the other side being the young stars. I can see Aja's team winning, but maybe they want to showcase the young talent for their home promotions. Strong Hearts Britt Baker seems like the top female already, but going with Nyla for this match. Lucha Bros gotta take back the titles Cody for sure No Hangman match based on my BR prediction And I think Jericho wins, he's the bigger name in the states, he has the big match with Okada coming up they might want to help relations with NJPW, Kenny will do better chasing for now. Sets up my title match of Hangman and Jericho, where I think Hangman goes over and becomes their first champ. I don't think we see CM Punk, but could potentially see some Moxley package or appearance to set up maybe an Omega match while he's out of the title picture. I don't follow the indies so this is mostly guesses.
Not sure when I'll get to watching Double or Nothing later, but I watched all the Road To shows earlier that got me excited
Chris Jericho hot take: Literally every really big match he's been in has underwhelmed, with one exception: vs HBK at WM19.
Yeah, that’s too high....still met my expectations though I remember really liking the second match he had with Punk, I think it was a street fight I think he had a good run with Rey too
