Oh, I agree. It’s the counter narrative that WWE is pushing that they were petulant children that the tweet is mocking. They’re not pissed about just losing the titles, it’s the pattern of broken promises. They were told they’d be defending the titles across all three brands and make them something really special and unique that doesn’t currently exist in the company. But then Vince changes his coke-fueled, steroid-powered mind because of....reasons. It’s him and it’s always been him. Meltzer had a bit on his show this morning about how executives in pro sports (people he knows), even wrestling fans, wouldn’t go to WWE in a million years because it’s just madness. It’s easy to see. Sasha also unfollowed WWE and followed AEW. Who knows what happens?

Show me a WWE performer who hasn't been fed shit. Literally nothing was compelling about Sasha and Bayley as champs. Their promos were awkward and they were the 3rd best performance in the match that they won the titles in. We just watched Becky and Kofi get over completely organically. Sasha and Bayley were given their shot and stunk up the place. You think Ali wasn't pissed to lose his push through no fault of his own? You think KO was kinda bummed when his (likely promised) title shot at Mania ended up going to Kofi? There's nothing to say that Sasha and Bayley can't eventually have an epic tag run. But where's the excitement in that right now? Were they over at all? It was just bad TV and to the shock (and should be delight) of us all, they pivoted to something more entertaining. It's one thing to never get a shot like Kofi. It's another to be given several titles and never go anywhere with it. WWE can shoulder plenty of blame, but then so can Sasha. I know this all comes across as me being some Sasha hater. But I started watching after she left NXT. The last compelling thing I saw her be a part of was the triple threat at WM like 4 years ago now. Every one of her big moments and the accompanying promos have been about making history and her talking through tears about how her dreams are coming true. She is stale as fuck and rides a lot of her reputation from NXT with fans on the internet.
She's just boring, part bookings fault part her own. She thinks more highly over herself than she really is unfortunately.

Becky and Kofi got over because they let them perform and in the case of Becky gave her a bunch of wins. They didn’t have either out there cutting 15 minute baby face promos about nothing
Kind of hope they split New Day up in shakeup. Kofi is solo star now with the title. Maybe keep Xavier with him for now. Big E I think could do very well in a solo run too on his return.

Viceland's next wrestling doc is about the Montreal Screwjob and will not only recap it in their expectedly high-quality way, but will also reveal Meltzer's infamous "I'll reveal it when he's dead" source who was the actual architect of the MS. Lots of people were in on screwing Bret. Triple H first pitched the idea of doing it, but Vince's original idea for how to do it was for Shawn to do a shoot rollup (the Richter screwjob finish). Gerald Brisco shot that down immediately though, saying Bret would murder Shawn in the middle of the ring before he could run away. The only solution would be a screwjob that gave Shawn plausible deniability. Someone, no one knows who (though he talked to Meltzer under the promise never to reveal it till he was dead), had the idea of the fake tapout. Ironically, Bret himself pitched the idea of doing that as a dusty finish a few weeks earlier. He told Vince "Shawn can reverse the sharp shooter and you can call for the bell, bringing the other Harts out and then DX and we do a big smoz fight, ending the PPV with no clear decision, then I just hand the belt over on Raw the next night." Vince initially shot it down because he didn't want Bischoff going on Nitro at saying "the current WWF Champion has signed a WCW contract!" Someone brought the idea back up and added the notion of, after ringing the bell, calling Shawn the champ, giving him the belt, and just getting the hell outta dodge. Who that someone was we don't know but Viceland says they'll reveal it. We know it wasn't Patterson, Triple H, Vince, Brisco. None of the other wrestlers were in on it, like Taker or Shamrock, etc, because they were more loyal to Bret than Shawn. My money is on Earl Hebner.
