It's incredible how often Roman is in the opening or closing segment when he's nowhere near the Universal title.
Seriously though....you just had Roman singlehandedly neuter the tag champs two weeks in a row. Then after a hard fought match by Braun Strowman, you immediately had Roman come down to the ring to kick his ass (which is a TOTAL heel move) and then he got his ass kicked by Strowman. They have no fucking idea how to book Reigns.
It all goes back to his own popularity, or lack thereof. Replace Reigns with Austin and so much of this terrible booking is overlooked. Austin used to spend everyweek coming out and cheap-shotting everyone in sight. No one cared that it was technically a "heel" move because Austin was genuinely popular. The crowd makes or breaks a guy and it's almost impossible to reverse engineer a superstar.
Normally LA crowds are good. This one blew total dick. Chanting this is Awesome to Big Show/Braun march before it got started. Fuck you LA
KO was fantastic tonight. Wish they would've booked him this was 6 months ago. I just want to turn off my TV when Roman come out. That Bayley promo was pure shit. Sasha is a terrible baby face. Not going to lie when I saw big show in main event and that reigns was booked to face the tag champs 2 on 1 again (plus hinting at getting involved in main event) I stopped watching tonight.
The answer is so fucking simple, its Sami Zayn. He has so much natural charisma and the crowd already loves him, he connects with fans both young and old, and he's one of the best workers on the planet. He's such a natural successor to Daniel Bryan.

I have my doubts. Lesnar could interfere, would make more sense. Jericho could interfere on BEHALF of KO, because he did say "no matter what" that he'd make sure KO walked out of Fastlane as Champ.

True. But to avoid the open feud, you could have Jericho smash KO in the face with his belt. Goldberg wins by DQ but KO retains. I guess that'd still possibly be an open feud, but less so than if he smashes Bill in the face and helps KO get the pin.
I'll put the results in order of likelihood to occur: - Jericho interferes and gets goldberg the belt. - Goldberg wins clean. lesnar beats the shit out of him post-match. - lesnar interferes against Goldberg, KO keeps the belt. I think these are the only options.

Actually they booked him exactly right last night...if you look at it from Vince's POV. Vince's POV: • Gallows and Anderson are heels and reigns is a top face. The fans will cheer the heels getting there comeuppance when reigns take out both. It will give the fans something to cheer for before the main event • Braun is a heel, big show is a legend. Braun beating up on a beloved legend gets him more heat and makes fans hate him more. Fans will boo Braun. • Roman, being the top face, comes out to get Braun, because he beat up the fans beloved legend big show. Fans will cheer at the drop of Roman's music • Bruan takes out the fan's hero Roman. Braun gets more heat. Fans boo Braun and sympathize with Roman. Fans know that Roman will eventually overcome and when he does they will cheer for him even more. That's a pretty cookie cutter booking. The issue is that the fans don't see the players the way Vince does and Vince is either to stubborn or out of touch to notice. The fans don't see Roman as a top face, they don't see big show as a beloved legend, everyone is indifferent to gallows and Anderson after months of being comic relief, and people kind of like Braun destroying everyone.
If you just shuffled the chairs a bit and replaced Big Show with Rock and Roman with Zayn, everything works and everyone goes home happy.
I didn't mention this last night but also a huge FU to the LA crowd for the "thank you Shamus" chant after he kicked Enzo. You repug motherfuckers.
I don't think Brock really gives a shit about the belt at all in this story. He's been embarrassed twice by Bill. Bill thinks he's hot shit and deserves a title run. Costing Bill his dream final title run is way more valuable than the winning the title off him later.
Also it seems like The Rock and Austin were both in LA last night. If you had me bored to death watching RAW the least you could do it pop in Rock and Austin at the top of our 2 and give them 20 minutes to spew whatever bullshit, stun Bo Dallas and move on
Brock wants (and will beat) Goldberg. Getting the belt is a huge bonus and having an "advocate" (advisor) would logically mean playing the long game. Brock should be rooting for Goldberg so he then gets a shot at the belt. This would make sense, but the WWE often ignores that. Nia and Chyna - two of the most physically dominant women in the WWE's history and both have high pitched, nasally voices.
from Steph challenging Goldberg with "do you think you have one more title run in you?" to Cole pointing out Goldberg's disappointment in not getting the automatic title shot after being eliminated at the RR to him saying the reason Owens has the belt is b/c he has not faced him yet - leads me to believe Goldberg will win at Fastlane. the WWE makes a dozen subtle references which make things obvious. I thought Paul and Brock were great last night. Nia always smiles at some point. And not a devious smirk like Braun closed RAW with. Its a "im so happy to be on TV" cheese. It ruins her/the moment every week
