Bray lost to Finn Balor in Finn's "demon" character, then Bray said that Finn could not beat him as just a man, and then Finn beat him out of the demon character and as himself. Then Bray said he has a demon too and that Sister Abigail is not really dead and he will channel her to beat him. Then instead of having a female Sister Abigail, it appears Sister Abigail is just going to be Bray in drag. He has only done video promos so far, but they distort his voice and he has a weird photoshop over his face and speaks as if he is sister abigail. It is weird
I love the idea that they are going to either 1) kill the mystique of the Demon, who has never lost, to Bray fucking Wyatt OR 2) they are going to kill the mystique of Sister Abigail on the very first appearance. Brilliant stuff WWE
All the ways they could have incorporated a sister Abigail over the years, and this is what they finally end up doing. Good game WWE, good effort
I think Bray is a solid worker but god that gimmick has been terrible for years. I know he isn’t booked the best but I refuse to believe he doesn’t have more input in the character than most guys on that roster. He needs to change things up to be less cartoonish. This Sister Abigail shit is just digging that hole further and further.
I think this is related. That character I think is very well done, believable, and creepy. It could have been a really intimidating figure. But the bookings killed any chance of that. So now its just some weird guy who loses.
Right. You can't call Bray cartoonish when fucking Kane is in the main event of Hell in a Cell and the fucking Undertaker just ended a Hall of Fame career.
I mean Kane is cartoonish too. And Taker had moments where on paper his shit should never have worked but he is one of the best ever and he salavaged it. Bray isn’t nearly as good as either of those guys were in their prime though, so when he does rest dumb shit it looks even more ridiculous.
That character was all of those things like six years ago when he debuted. What has changed with his character since then? He just does more and more shit that is supposed to be shocking but isn’t.
Kane and Undertaker were great because they always won. Its why Bray sucks and is a side show now. You can't be the eater of worlds and then job every fucking match. They finally rebooted him, put the title on him, then turned him into a jobber and sent him to RAW in about the span of a month.
Kane also didn't have to give 10 minute promos his first 5 years really. Maybe a few. They give Bray 5-10 almost weekly to weave his mad man ramblings, and you can only give that promo so many times, especially with this booking, before it's near impossible to take his very good words seriously.
His tag line is "Run" but why the fuck would anyone run from him? He just gets the shit beat out of him everywhere he goes. They finally looked to be a force when they brought in Braun but then jobbed them out to Kane and Taker solely because it was Taker's 25th Survivor Series
Not to spam the page but here's the preview of TLC https://www.cultofwhatever.com/2017/10/your-so-of-course-preview-of-wwe-tlc-2017/
Bray may lose in the ring, but, he's somehow banging Jo Jo in her prime. So that's winning. And what has Buff Bagwell been up to you axe?
Watched Ultimate Lucha Tres parts 1-3, still catching up on 4. Some observations 1. the way they edit the show is really clumsy. Its clearly aired out of order so the events don't really have a flow to them. 2. The announcers suck and Vampiro is the worst commentator in the history of wrestling. 3. The Deadshot vs Dante Fox match in part 1 was absolutely brutal. The fact they came back and wrestled again that same night is insane. 4. The triple threat match was a gorefest. Fuck off with that spot where Cage had those things get stuck in his head. That was gruesome. Its crazy to see 300 lbs guys like Cage and Muertes doing spinning head scissors and second rope moonsaults. Reminds me how watered down most of the WWE product is. Need to finish the last hour of part 4.
My favorite wrestler ever is replacing my least favorite current main-eventer. All the blood just rushed from my head.
Sets up great for the Shield to get beat and then Roman to come back at Survivor Series and save them. Also, wouldn't it have made more sense to just stay in kayfabe and say Roman got hurt on RAW so its 5 on 2.
Isn't his neck made of cardboard? Can't wait to see 45 year old Kane drop him on his head on accident.
No because the whole point of the storyline and match is to use all 7 of them just to get roman over.
What the fuck is happening? I really haven't been following Raw at all, this sounds ridiculous. They're pulling AJ to a Raw PPV because of all the viral meningitis?
That's exactly what happened. Half the locker room is dropping like flies and Vince is scrambling like a mad man. Is it ridiculous that he's tossing out Kurt Angle's return and AJ vs Balor with basically ZERO notice? Yep. DO I CARE NO I DO NOT CARE
Would be nice if they actually did something with the AJ vs Balor match instead of having it be an exhibition contest. There's a killer storyline staring the WWE right in the fucking face. Just move Balor to Smackdown and you can make either of them heel....they both are great at it.
The attempted sim-nature of the 2K games just turns me off. The N64 games with their strong/weak grapple/strike system had the perfect balance of strategy and fun. I don't have fun playing the 2K games. Even something as simple as kicking out of a pin is convoluted. The games are pretty but that's about all it has on the old games I grew up with.
Is Vince really going to make Kurt Angle lose in his comeback match in an attempt to get Reigns over? Spoiler yes, yes he is
Brays problem is two fold imo. His success and following early was eaten up and made major headlines. His promos were amazing and fresh. With that I think WWE did what they know how to do which is to run that into the ground because "people are loving this shit" type of thinking. So Bray gives even more rambling promos. Which could only be fresh for so long. But then they didn't give him the wins to back up the rambling so he became a joke. He's the guy who talks a big talk and begs you to fight him at the bar, then gets knocked out two punches in after trying to sneak punch you once. It's sad. Bray had the chance to be a major character. He was something new and interesting. They ruined it within a few months. Misused the family. Misused Bray. Revamped him, gave him a title and justttt when people were starting to get behind him again, they made him a jobber again.
I can't think of a single major feud Bray has gone over in. They just book him terribly. let's have him win the title and go over with the fans, have him lose in a rushed finish, then have his feud with Orton end prematurely in a terrible match that suddenly became a non title match because you decided to have him switch shows randomly then let's remember this was all done to get the title on Jinder
He's never won a feud. Maybe Ambrose via exploding TV, I can't recall if that was the end of the feud or not
My review of fire pro: Last night, I played as Asuka vs Ric Flair in a Japanese death match, left half of the canvas covered in blood and beat him with a dragon screw suplex/shining wizard combo. That's all you need to know.
Somewhere Daniel Bryan is pissed they won't clear him but will give an old man with a brittle twig neck a handful of Vicodins and tell him to take a table slam. Ah, Vince.
