this is good news. I wouldn’t mind paying $70 if that extra money went into making the game better. I play mostly sports games and they are mostly just updated rosters in most years. PES, the distant 2nd most popular soccer game behind FIFA, announced they were selling a $30 game this year and then putting in work for a major improvement on the next gen next year. Trying to win new fans at that price point as well. I’d expect more dynamic pricing with games moving forward. It just sucks that a lot of sports games don’t really have a legit competitor to push them to be better.
ori at 120 fps on series x is the biggest thing so far. hopefully state of decay 3 will be better than 2. halo looks like halo.
i have no idea what to think about grounded but the trailer was hilarious. kinda looks like pve fortnite.
Recently tried to get back into 2 with some friends and that lasted all of like 2 days. Was just so disappointing.
i had a very strange physical reaction to double fine and jack black before realizing it was just psychonauts 2, but it gives me hope for the future.
I did enjoy it when it came out. Think I ended up with 4-5 days of playtime. But the barely co-op experience hurt since my friends and I had been waiting for that since the first game. Hopefully they get it right with 3 because it would be so much more fun if you were actually cooperating to build a community instead of just being a mule for your friends/collecting shit for your own community.
Pleased with that show, the exclusives are good. State of Decay 2 had tons of issues just like the first one but I love it, can’t wait for 3. Avowed looks incredible, same for Everwild, the in game footage from Forza was unbelievable looking. Disappointed no Fable gameplay yet, and would love to know what the initiative is up to, other than that very happy.
It does but not until September. The base game and all DLC except the most recent is already free to play.
Saw an updated article that mentions the seasonal content is excluded, but I think those are just $10 per quarter or so and not really all that important afaik
https://www.ign.com/articles/every-game-shown-in-the-xbox-showcase-is-coming-to-game-pass Every game shown today will be on gamepass. Even Tetris which was a third party game.
And I believe they're all on PC. So what would push me to buy the new console? I'd say 4k 60FPS and gaming with friends if crossplay isn't available.
If you have a new PC and are consistently upgrading I don’t think it matters, and I think that’s Microsoft’s consistent message, “we don’t care where you play, there’s an Xbox ecosystem for that,” essentially.
Yes hello good afternoon Game Pass is the best deal in gaming today. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Also, Microsoft/Xbox cracks me tf up. Gamers: "We want good games and exclusives" MS: "Okay so Jack Black?" Gamers: "Wait no...we want good games" MS: "Jack Black....singing?" Gamers: "No...plz no" MS: "INTRODUCING JACK BLACK SINGING!!!!"
He’s pretty popular in the gamersphere. His gaming YouTube channel had like 5 million subs before he even dropped a video
Couple of things moved the needle for me yesterday. Fable is a system seller for me when it finally releases. I’ll be keeping my eye on Avowed. Obsidian was such a shrewd acquisition for Microsoft. I’m glad to see that’s paying off for them with Outer Worlds getting a bigger following on GamePass. I’d look for them to surpass Bethesda with this. My wife watched the Psychonauts 2 bit and said “this is a (wife) ass game”. Adding Jack Black gave me Pick of Destiny tripping scene vibes in an extended, playable form. I wanted to be excited for Halo Infinite but I honestly just have so much fatigue from FPS. The diversity is limited by the genre and it just seems like those games all run together at this point.
One thing I need from Microsoft is quality. They gave us a quantity of games yesterday most of which I’m expecting to range from good to very good, but I need them moving forward to show me something great. Show me a AAA new ip title that blows my socks off. (Fable and avowed may both do this but we didn’t see much of them yesterday).
If you havent played journey to the savage planet, I highly reccomend it. Its funny, has some good puzzles, and can be played in co-op.
I’ve looked at this and almost downloaded multiple times. Will give it a shot after I finish Control, which I bought for half price the other day. It’s interesting, glad I didn’t pay $60 for it though.
https://www.ign.com/articles/world-of-warcraft-rated-for-xbox-series-x-in-brazil If this is true, a little surprising they didn’t work it into their presentation last week. Doesn’t move the needle for me, but an interesting development for sure.
Report back in, so I don't have to watch Twitch. Tia. Reporting in: Wathing Twitch.... If you have problems with ground like fluctuating, try lowering FOV and increasing render if it's not maxed already.
from what ive seen so far it just looks like another early access survival game. if you enjoy the genre and the aesthetic you will probably have a good time with it. if not, you probably wont.
So far I like Stranded Deep a bit more, but I've only played 2 hours, so need to give it more time. I could def see myself liking Grounded more after more time.
Didn’t get to play much last night. I got frustrated with the lack of any mapping system in stranded deep. There should be some sort of system where you can map stuff yourself as you discover it imo.
Grounded was fun....seems like a really well-polished game for the "Game Preview" stage. My only question for people who played a good amount: Spoiler Once you find the robot, it seems like leading quests stop. The robot has quests like "analyze rocks" but nothing that progresses the story. Is that because its in Game Preview? Is that the end for the time being? It just seems to be super open-ended after that with no direction.
