got the $30 EA Access shenanigan per the discussion ITT. someone tell me what to do next. Can I just download Dragon Age for free now? Do I need to download some kind of Vault App? I'm also running out of space on my XBone ~18GB left after DLing Rory on sunday. would it be better to delete games I don't play anymore (BF4 and Destiny) or get an external hard drive? follow up: I can re-DL games that I delete right? If external HD better option, someone explain like I'm 5 how it works
I bought this external hard drive for $70. Link It has 1TB which is double your current hard drive. It also spins at 7200rpms so it downloads/uploads faster than your in-Xbox hard drive. All you do is plug it in and then you are good to go. It will save new shit on the external but it will refer back to the old hard drive if you want to play games installed on it. I kind of feel like I can keep a library of those two hard drives full and will delete stuff as need be from there. That will be "enough" games for me to be occupied and not re-downloading shit all the time.
Purchased. so about Dragon Age - how many hours would you say it takes to play from start to finish? Without doing every single side mission (if that's a thing) in the game. I am okay with the amount of time spent on assassins creed games but couldn't commit to something like an Elder Scrolls series game
if you want to beat the game, you'll need to do side missions to get enough xp. I'd say at least a hundred hours.
Halo 5 is gonna be rated T instead of M....interesting. https://games.yahoo.com/news/halo-5-guardians-first-main-173101487.html
Well Halo 4 sucked dick and MCC was a disaster Why anyone would buy anything from 343 at this point is beyond me
Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare has given many hours of enjoyment. I am actually excited for the sequal. Great online shooter.
I love Halo and I follow it like a 12 year old follows Call of Duty. Halo was the first game I had for Xbox so I am super nostalgic. I will buy every single Halo game without a doubt like the lemming that I am. I don't understand the Halo 4 hate and the only thing I regret about MCC is buying the digital copy. I am very happy with it now. With all that having been said, I'm confident that Halo 5 will be awesome. They have had 3 years to develop it. The Xbox One has been out for 2 years now and games are becoming fucking awesome now, especially from developers that have multitudes of time/money. Also, Halo 5 had a beta in January and it was a bunch of fun and worked really well. In January. They have had 10 more months to add and tweak shit using the data they got from the beta. You may not be able to read between the lines but I'm a huge Halo homer and I'm pretty excited for this game. I have the utmost faith.
Hooked up the TV tuner and Leaf last night. Only get 31 channels and approximately 75% of them are shit but now my GF has her ABC shows and I have NBC for Premier League on the weekends so I can't complain.
Yes, the Hauppauge one. It works beautifully for what I want it to. I just mounted it on a wall facing a window.
Yeah so can anyone answer my question in the post above? The more I search the more I think it was a limited time thing
Backwards compatibility isn't fully out yet. When it is, a list of games you had for 360 will appear under games and apps or whatever and be available download.
It's limited not only by time but by which developers actually allowed you to do it. Only certain games allowed you to switch over to the new generation of consoles with a copy of their game for the new console. Just from my experience... COD Ghosts - I think it was $10 extra on top of regular price to have a copy of the game for 360 and then a copy for the X1. Ghosts came out before the X1 was released so they didn't want people to have to wait to get started on leveling up and everything. GTA V - this one was just a situation where you would take your GTA V disc to any store and get I think $30-40 in credit towards the new version of the game. I think Madden or a couple other sports games did similar things to Ghosts but I didn't do any of those. And then as UncleItchyBalls pointed out above, backwards compatibility is coming down the line and once that happens you will be able to simply insert your 360 disc into the X1 and it will install the game (or if you bought it digitally on 360, once it's made backwards compatible on the X1 it will just show up under My Games & Apps as "ready to install") and you can play it if it's a backwards compatible title which is completely up to the developers/publishers. MS just has to run the game through their emulator, adjust the emulator for any bugs they find and then put it up for download but they need the approval of the developers/publishers before they do that.
So cod: advanced warfare for example. Will I have to buy an entire new game? Or will it allow me to play it on the xbone as if it was a 360 game? Or will it recognize that I bought it, and allow me to download an xbone version of it?
if I have the old discs say of a WWII COD game, will I be able to play it on my X1? Did anyone get the Arkham Knights? Was it worth it?
did the Xbox One and Samsung HDTV deal for $500. Picking up in store tomorrow. Not a big gamer (wife more so than me) since I graduated but it was too good a deal to pass up and our Xbox360 is getting old. Just read through 20 pages of the thread, sounds like EA Access is a must and it would be wise to buy an external hard drive. FIFA is a definite kop but after that I don't know what to do w/ my hands. I'm all ears.
Go with this hard drive WD My Book 4 TB USB 3.0 Hard Drive with Backup https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00E3RH61W/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_wnrZvbD125V5S
Whole new game for AW. Your stats might carry over but I'm not 100% since I never went near AW. The only reason they did the deal with Ghosts was because it came out in a tiny window just before the new consoles launched.
I'm looking forward to Forza 6 in about a month. NERD ALERT - I was top 10 in the world on at least 4 different racing games in my teens. Forza 6 is going to have ranked league play with prizes and the whole bit so I may end up having to quit my job for that. But seriously, Forza 6, Rock Band 4 and the new Need For Speed game (a bit of a reboot for the series - supposed to have a lot of similarities to the Underground series they did which everyone agrees were the best NFS games) are all going to be purchases for me in the next few months. Here's a good list of upcoming games... https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/wiki/games#wiki_upcoming_games
Went to best buy think I got a new cashier because somehow I got a 2 TB external for $45 that was $89 on sale regularly $129.
Larry HrybVerified account @majornelson Xbox One Update coming tonight. No major features but includes small fixes to party chat and prep for the new UI coming later this year.
I thought the beta was really enjoyable, looking forward to it as well feel the same as you about the series
Ive done store pickup a few times on something they had a decent deal online for, but otherwise its pretty depressing in there.
