Sunday, 12/11 Buy select Xbox controllers and get a $25 Microsoft Store gift code. https://www.microsoftstore.com/stor...459594)(TnL5HPStwNw-xGdBKJXzjbjKe.DtYYHcXQ)()
while I watched wisky choke a fat cock I streamed BF1 to my Surface Pro 3. I cannot believe how well it worked. If my wifi was a touch stronger it would be a great option when the boss is using the TV.
personally im a big fan of 10. But I threw a classic shell on top of it so i have a standard start menu.
it's been a while since I've gotten any new games brother in-law will get me 1 or 2 for xmas; any suggestions?
If you're looking for online multiplayer, Battlefield 1 is pretty popular right now. Overwatch just got a ton of love at the awards. Single player you could do Skyrim remastered or the Tomb Raider games that have been out a while.
I played it a ton when it came out. I haven't played it much recently. I know there were some complaints about the way the Dark Zone was setup. However recent feedback says it has gotten better.
I hated The Division tbh. A game that is similar (shooter with MMO/looting type elements) is Destiny. Skill based matchmaking makes the multiplayer (called crucible) forgiving for new players. Game is 2 years old, and has 4 small expansions plus 1 major expansion, so there's enough content to last a very long time. Made by Bungie (makers of Halo franchise).
Fuck. Just went to the MS store for the in store deals. Walked out with an elite controller because I can't fucking control myself.
Correct. They take maybe 2 hours to complete if you don't die at all. It's basically a multiple only game
Really fun game. The main storyline is super entertaining IMO but no one plays anymore. Once you reach the endgame, it's a horrible grind forever. Make sure you have friends to play with if you buy this game
OK this Elite Controller is fucking fun. So much easier to use. But I cant figure out how to change sprint option to one of the tabs.
Go to home, settings, devices. Should be an option for Xbox elite button mapping if you do some searching.
If you have a Microsoft store nearby I'd go Elite. It has a shitty, regular warranty and there have been some issues with quality control. I personally haven't had any issues with my Elite controller (have a friend with an issue and have read a good bit on the X1 subreddit about issues) but I've had issues with several other "standard" X1 controllers and trying to get a replacement even with the warranty is a huge hassle. But if you have an MS store nearby you can pretty much walk in with a mangled, out of warranty Elite controller and they'll give you a new one. It's insane how poor the online customer service is for MS but how good it is once you get to an American on the phone or just go to a physical store. Scufs have a lot of horror stories with regards to their customer support and on top of that they're selling you a modded version of something that already has its own quality control issues. Just sounds like a recipe for a bad experience should anything go wrong. And I think the Elite is cheaper and will do basically everything a Scuf will but you can't customize the colors.
No Microsoft store anywhere near me and i'very had no issue with the Scuf products I have had it the past. sounds like an easy decision.
all I know is that I can already feel the difference in how I move. also comes with thumbstick options. it feels really well built.
There is an Xbox Accessories app that you need to download. This will let you remap the Elite's buttons and assign 2 setups to the controller. Microsoft has some prebuilt button profiles for their games (GoW, FH3, etc) and you can make as many as you like. The controller can only have 2 loaded at a time but it's super easy to change them and the controller doesn't have to be cord connected to load different settings.
It's how the controller was designed. People finally realized there were wasted contact points on the back of the controller and took a necessary step forward.
The only game I really utilized the back paddles for was The Division. Much easier than using left or right for specials and I set up reload and swap weapons on them. Never really have to take my thumbs off the sticks. GoW is kinda like that too. I use the hair triggers in shooters. The only things I haven't messed with are the stick and trigger sensitivities. I felt a little out of my depth messing with those. I wish either that there were more presets like what MS did or that I could find a good reference (maybe Reddit) where community guys have built ones I can download.
I usually use 2-3 paddles on my elite depending on the game. Almost always, my bottom left is A/Jump, bottom right is Crouch/Slide, and top left is X (usually reload). I also use an extended right thumb-stick. Feels weird playing with a regular controller after you get used the elongated thumb-stick. Makes higher sensitivity easier to deal with because of the extended range of motion. Also, the trigger stops are really good for rapid trigger pulls. Huge advantage for certain games that require a lot of movement while still aiming (jumping/sliding, etc) like the new Call of Duty games, Destiny, Halo, or Titanfall. Haven't played Gears of War in a long time, but I could see it being great for that game as well. Being able to keep your thumb aiming while wall-bouncing seems nice.
Yeah I figured it out. I crossed some up and kept saving it lol. I like that you can create profiles and switch between 2 ingame.
I don't play EA games enough to justify buying Access, but 25$ for that game library seems like a steal...
My controller has come down with a bad case of drift stick lately, so I'll probably get an Elite controller soon. They definitely make a huge difference in games that (for some reason) still don't have customizable controls.
The paddles are frustrating at first, but after a few days, muscle memory kicks in. It'll be hard to go back to a regular controller. Huge advantage. Not as necessary for a game like Overwatch because of the game's built-in button mapping.
