I get it. I’ve been ximming for so long I am a cripple when it comes to fps play with a controller. Also, I regularly get wrecked by people on the sticks and the aim assist hinders xim users in some instances. That being said, I do wreck people so I can see how hard feelings would abound. I don’t play PubG or Overwatch though.
so people using xim have their box and monitor set up like a pc, like sitting at a desk? ive alawys wanted to get a monitor for gaming to see the difference, but there's no awy i could play m&k sitting comfortably in a living room or bed room, not at a computer desk.
Hopefully they figure it all out like fortnite almost did and place all mouse users in their own lobby. Those devices ruin the mostly even playing field. When fornite made that change the xim community was pissed that they couldn’t face 100% stick users and instead were placed into mouse only lobbies... I wonder why?
I got a XIM solely for overwatch about 5 months ago. It made me an infinitely better widow and slightly better at other hitscan. I got it just because I got so annoyed with KBM widows. Probably made me worse at everything else because it took so long for me to get the movement down. I don’t play comp on my main account anymore; but when i did I was still checking in a little over 4K, but I didn’t play near as much as I used to. I still play every other game on controller and I’m probably better at it anyways. I’ll probably give the xim a try on apex later tonight. That’s what I do, I bought a 144hz monitor that just sits on top of my 1X.
Yeah, pretty much. I used the same monitor for my PC as my xbox. I also sometimes play PC in my living room. Keyboard in my lap, legs reclined, and mouse pad to my right. Pretty comfortable, but definitely not a competitive setup lol I've talked about the xim before, and maybe I had a bad xim (very very noticeable input lag), but I still feel like it's not a big improvement for an experienced controller user unless the person also has extensive PC experience. Before I switched to PC, I tried out the Xim (in overwatch and destiny). I was slightly better at aiming in Destiny, but my movement was a lot worse because there is a very noticeable delay while using a xim. I used it occasionally in OW, but felt like a controller + aim assist in that game was just as good for most heroes. Heroes like widow were much better, but she wasn't meta, so who cares? OW is more MOBA than FPS nowadays anyway
Games like pubg and apex don’t have aim assist so it is a clear advantage in a game where you only have one life.
If you have some injury or disability and playing with a mouse and keyboard gives you relief or, in a way, gives you a more equal experience, then whatever obviously go for it. If all your friends are on Xbox and you just never used a controller before so you want a mouse and keyboard. A little annoying, but whatever have fun I guess cause at the EOD the social part of gaming is what brings you back. If you just did it “to see” and are sitting here arguing it doesn’t give you a competitive advantage over sticks then you’re full of shit and I don’t like you and I’m gonna report you on Xbox for being a stupid dummy. Go watch the way PC players are moving their crosshairs and controlling recoil in apex versus Xbox. It doesn’t look like they are even using the same guns.
Yes, you pay $10 a month and get access to a rotating library of games, you have access as long as you’re a member and they’re on game pass. All Microsoft first party games launch on game pass now moving forward.
watched some of crackdown on twitch, game looks awful. ive never played any crackdown before, but it looked like a GTA ultra light.
I believe they basically restarted development at some point so I think the disaster was relatively expected. I’ll play it on game pass but would never pay full price for it.
Man, I'm not in a party. My stereo adapter thing is set to 50/50 chat vs game audio. 1 out of 10 times I can hear the teammates in Apex, the other 9 I'm just apologizing as I see their little mics flair up throughout the game. I don't know what's going on. Controller is updated too.
Apex is hard, but fun. Tried it for the first time last night. Got wrecked my first few games, got the hang of it near the end of the night.
Playing crackdown, it’s objectively a bad game, the gun play is straight out of 10 years ago, there are major flaws with the game. I’ll play it for a week and beat it and let it satisfy my collect and destroy side and never look at it again. If i had played it and it was on sale for $5 I would not buy it, being that it’s on game pass and I don’t have to pay for it I’m fine. Shockingly disappointing game.
Don’t get me wrong I’m enjoying running around jumping real high etc, but it feels like they just reckoned the original game and didn’t really improve anything in the last 15 years
Haven’t played multiplayer. Single player is bad but I can enjoy it for what it is, it feels like a game that needed 6-12 more months of polish, which is unbelievable given it’s development cycle.
I'll probably give it a few more chances because it is on gamepass but I dont think it's a playable game long term.
Solo main imo. That game is definitely going to fill the void that Apex will be leaving though, and I’m not mad about it at all.
I'm getting a little worn out on Apex but I am very excited for the release of challenges and more characters/maps. I think that is supposed to come in March?
Ignore user Taco Sa1ad It’s the only legitimate MOBA (think League of Legends or DOTA 2) offered on Xbox. And yes, it’s free. Will be happy to teach you the ropes, because the learning curve is large. Edit: It’s also the best game on the Xbox imo
I like Smite. Ready for the cross progression (am I remembering that right?) My playtime and god pack is on PC
