Didn't they completely overhaul the 360 interface after like 2 of 3 year? I feel like the launch interface was different and not as good But it's dumb to say they should have just ported the 360 interface over to the One. The Xbone is 10x the machine 360s were. Things like snapping apps, being able to switch from a game to an app without closing the game, the impressive as fuck voice command support, save games entirely on the cloud, the shit that it can do for TV and video streaming, etc. necessitated a new OS. It obviously hasn't been perfect but they release updates like crazy and it's improved exponentially since launch. In a perfect world there are no issues to improve at launch but with the complexity of software and hardware today, that's not really realistic. I mean I've been frustrated at times too but you can't deny the leaps and bounds it improved over just the past few months. And they're going to continue to improve it while also adding more features. Just gotta be a little realistic and patient
I mean you have to compare it to its peers. PS4 has had just as many issues with things going down. Probably more of them. And they've usually taken longer to fix. It's just the nature of a brand new machine that has to deal with so many complex things simultaneously. The Xbone and PS4 have more features and capabilities than any other console ever made. There's going to be growing pains
Calm down big guy. I have both systems and like both. But in my opinion the ps4 does a better job at everything it's capable of doing and yes it loads stuff much faster which is important. That said I play the Xbox One 3 times as much as the ps4.
Is it being unrealistic or impatient to expect a next gen console to be able to do everything the previous gen console could do and more all the while doing it more quickly? I mean, if the X1 is "10x the machine 360s were" then that's not being unrealistic. I'm hoping things like DirectX 12 and Windows 10 help the console immensely later this year. And they completely overhauled the 360's interface I think twice during its lifespan. Maybe 3 times. Each time it was an improvement. Sometimes it took a little getting used to but in the end it was an obvious step forward. The X1 has made plenty of improvements since launch. That's undeniable. But it was so far behind the 360 at launch that even with all of those improvements it still has some catching up to do.
I agree that the x1 launch sucked major dick, but I think 99% of the problems have been fixed now. I honestly can't find much to complain about at this point. Like I said, I must be lucky in avoiding all of the outages you mentioned. I've not had a single problem since I got my new console in April.
I'm out of town this weekend, but I'm not sure I'll ever do that one. I never got into the PVP and the thorn grind about killed me. Always down for POE/nightfalls/dead weight in raids.
I've completed the prison of elders 3 times and received 3 exotics so far. No land beyond (ugh), icebreaker, and thunderlord
same character or 3 different ones? i'm assuming the guaranteed exotic roll is only once per character right?
We are same, especially after I got rid of my cable. Apparently they have fixed all the issues but I've been playing on my PC too much lately.
3 different characters. think the exotic is guaranteed if you have a "treasure key." I got another today, and plan on testing this tomorrow
Yep! Don't think the ranking system is perfected though. Loving Witcher 3 right now. Fantastic game. Better than Skyrim in my opinion.
I think I may move my xbox into my office. My PC is getting 100% of my gaming time with games like Witcher 3, HotS, Diablo 3 (it's good now..for real), 7 Days to Die, GTA 5. That is my current rotation. I need to throw MCC into the mix. I only have 4-5 games for the xbox. I'll be picking up the new PGA game on it when it comes out though.
Good thing in my opinion. When they push things back, there are glaring issues they want to address before releasing. Sucks waiting but MCC wouldn't have been an abortion if they had done the same.
Played FIFA pro clubs tonight and forgot how frustrating the party chat is. It seems like we have an issue with it every time we play. We played 6 matches total and for our first match one guy tried joining the party 3 times before giving up and just playing without speaking to us, finally worked after that match. Stopped altogether early in the last match for all 4 of us. Awesome that it worked for 2/3 the time tonight
The only issue I've ever had with my Xbox 1 is that sometimes with Hardline it'll freeze at the first bit of chaos during a game. Once I restart and find another server it never does it again, it's just the first bit of gameplay of the day I suppose. I don't know if that's fully on the console or if it's more on the game. I don't have many friends on Xbox Live so I haven't really tried the party chat stuff out.
Playing pro clubs the chat is pretty important since you're working as a soccer team and it seems like more often than not at least one person will have an issue with it where it will let them in the party but it doesn't work (can't hear each other) or it just won't let them join period Eventually it works but can be really frustrating
No one I play with uses their mic through the Xbox 1. We all use Skype, mumble, or teamspeak. Most of them didn't even buy the adapter that lets you use game chat.
If they get party chat all converted to dedicated servers I would imagine that will help. Since they implemented it for preview members I've had no real issues and the sound quality has been really good.
Haven't had a single issue with parties since like February. You guys sure you're doing it right? Maybe read the instructions?
I assume this isn't serious but example from last night is after the 1st match we play 4 matches in a row no issue, 6th match none of us can hear each other and longer, snap party and it won't even let me leave the party so I can try to rejoin
Party seemed fine since the May preview updates started coming out I think. But since the June previews started rolling out we've been having problems again. Had to just use regular game chat on Farming Simulator yesterday because the party app itself completely froze for all 3 people in our party. Pretty standard for the party issues. They fix them with an update one month and break them the next. Also, since StinkusP1nkus liked my Farming Simulator video where my friend and I were running the most awful and inefficient logging operation on the planet I figure I should provide an update... here's how we do things now with our Scorpion Kings. http://xboxclips.com/dimestorez/54a034fb-d2ea-4bfe-924d-cbaf7ccba184 We plant fir trees ($7k each) in a lot right across from the lumber yard. Scorpion King cuts at the base, stays attached and we drag the whole tree to the border of the drop off box at the lumber yard. Set the cut length to 8m and make about $60k off each tree and it takes ~1 minute. I'd say it's borderline cheating but it funds our unsuccessful standard farming operations (I say unsuccessful because my friend doesn't research shit before he buys it and ends up selling half of the equipment he buys back for 60% what he paid for once he finds out it doesn't do what he thought it did) back on the farmstead.
Went 9-0 twice on trials of osiris and got a ton of etheric light. I hope this is a weekly thing, and not only occasional like iron banner. I'm down to play anything. Add me: ukace1
I don't really know. My friend is always scouring the internet to see what X1 games are coming out down the line because other than Titanfall there hasn't been a game that's held our attention on it. So he said something about Farming Simulator a couple months ago and I knew it was somewhat popular on PC (pretty big in Europe along with Euro Truck Simulator - they're both made by the same company in Switzerland) so I jokingly said something about it being awesome and he kinda just stuck to it and here we are less than a week after its release and I've probably played it for 20 hours or so. You start doing something on it at like 7PM and the next thing you know it's after midnight.
can someone cliffnote witcher 3, the beginning story line? It hasn't suck in yet what's the main thing we are working for/why is he looking for Yennefer right now
This will help you in the first one you are basically found dead on the battlefield and suffer amnesia and spend the next couple of games trying to figure out your past.
Yeah. Friend and I do game sharing so I technically haven't paid full price for a game since like Titanfall.
It can get a little monotonous once you get everything started up and running like a machine but the mishaps are always hilarious. My friend and I started a new farm on the European map (there's a US map and a Euro one) and were using our cheap little system of logging to get started up (it's even easier on the Euro map as evidenced here - http://xboxclips.com/dimestorez/8e1d9b6d-c7e8-45dd-9f1f-f562b061c6f9 - Euro map has an actual mill pond at the lumber yard so we just drag the trees over to the edge and cut/drop - in that 30 second clip we made over $100k since we were working pretty much in unison) and we ran into some issues... http://xboxclips.com/bicranium/edb4cd74-f269-4d75-8f75-91343bc37b2c - there I caught the tail end of a barrel roll that a weird glitch caused me to do in the $300k+ piece of equipment. The tree I was trying to move/cut got stuck on the railroad tracks and it just behaved weirdly. Luckily if you make a mistake like that you don't lose the equipment as it can be reset back to the farm. Unfortunately the drive back to the lumber yard is relatively long since the Scorpion King tops out at 13mph. http://xboxclips.com/dimestorez/a9356a73-b6b7-4ffc-b99b-6197685eb7e9 - in this one the glitch had tried to take me again but we had our 2nd Scorpion King at this point so I told my friend to come over and try to push me out. He basically just barreled into the water under me and I'm laughing at him for being an idiot, I try to drive out since his SK is basically keeping me from falling further in but it's not really moving so he tells me to go ahead and cut the log and see what happens and well... there it is. One of our other friends was in party chat with us playing The Witcher as we were basically dying laughing from the failures and he was just like WTF is going on. Yeah, I've seen people streaming on Twitch playing the game who are actual farmers and give legitimate farming commentary. Pretty funny/interesting. One one hand I'm like, man, if I was actually a farmer I would not want to play a farming video game but on the other, in the game you can get some sweet equipment that maybe you wish you owned in real life so that would be cool.
