Been having a lot of fun with it regardless of the bugs. The revive glitch is a real pain in the ass though
I'm still having a blast with PUBG, haven't played since the patch but it seems to be better. They need to go back to the previous settings for vehicle damage, and fix the revive bug from what I've seen though. For now I'll just make sure to finish people off a little quicker.
Hope they fix the rendering next. I was trapped by a staircase that rendered in late. The thing was it was in Pochinki and I was pretty much dead center of the circle. No one could see me either because multiple people ran right by me. If I was playing solo or my squad didn’t get murdered I would have stuck it out.
So I've spoken about this game before, but I saw something about it recently and was reminded. I hear it's a lot like the Black Flag boat battle gameplay. I never played Black Flag, so I have no idea what to expect. It seems cool, and I don't think it's similar enough to Sea of Thieves to make a huge difference. The biggest problem I'm seeing is that it's Ubisoft.
I got my first win on PUBG a few days ago. A spicy, 3-kill win. One was early game, one was a top 10 car kill and then my final kill was with my silenced M16 with a 2x or 4x scope. The most recent update definitely has the game feeling more responsive so that's nice. I played some Fortnite for the first time a few days ago too just because of the 60fps. 60fps is so nice and the shooting in that game is pretty easy (had multiple 4-5 kill early starts) but I have no interest in building and that's at least as important as the shooting if not more so, so I'll just keep hoping that we eventually get 60fps PUBG. Hoping they give us a performance mode that isn't 4k on the X at some point that should get us around there.
Skull and Bones is literally Black Flag minus anything assassins creed plus expanded boat stuff/battles/customization. Should be fun but I believe it'll be shallow/short lived like For Honor. I bet its really fun though.
That may be the case....I honestly don't know anything about the single player aspect. I would be surprised if Ubisoft didn't do some single player campaign.

Playing squads & duos I can make it to the top 10 pretty regularly, solos I'm hit or miss to get top 10 but have never won a solo dinner.... probably because I suck at shooting people.
Looking at it now, I've got 3 solo, 5 duo, and 3 squad chicken dinners. Still think the more impressive number is that I make top 10 in 40% of duo games and 35% of squad games.
Gonna give the Sea of Thieves Final Beta a shot this weekend. Open to all, not just insiders. Impress me, Rare, and you'll have my doubloons.
Have you played any of the previous tests/beta for it? It's a fun game. They also seem to be really valuing player feedback kinda like epic, so they've got that going for them, which is nice.
Sea of thieves is launching on gamepass. For $10 per month there's no reason not to sign up even if sea of thieves doesn't deliver it's worth checking out at launch for the price of an indie game for a month.
Don’t have a 4K tv yet, but been thinking about upgrading to the Xbox one X, I have a launch edition Xbox One. Are there any additional benefits for a non 4K tv owner than the obvious storage?
I’m also one of the five people who actually really enjoys using the Kinect, do I need to buy an adapter or something to use it on the X? I use it primarily for volume control and pausing and playing movies when I’m cooking and away from the remote.
I noticed a pretty huge performance upgrade when playing with load times. Graphics also look quite a bit better/smoother (less jagged lines if that makes sense). If you need a new console, there really isn't a reason to not go with the X (especially if you're eyeing a 4k tv). I mostly play on a 2k monitor, so I'm not sure if the X outputs 1440p or 1080p for my monitor, but games do seem to look/run better.
It's discontinued so it's really hard to find one for a reasonable price. On Amazon it's over $200 for one. The shorter load times and better looking games have been mentioned. The reasoning for that is because the games will run at higher than 1080p and be downscaled to your screen's resolution resulting in a form of anti-aliasing (removing jagged edges on objects) called supersampling. So a game might run at 1440p or 4k (2160p) or whatever but because it ends up being scaled down to your display you get smoother edges. And then games, even ones without an X enhancement update, can run better. Higher and more consistent frame rates and even resolution bumps if the games already featured dynamic resolutions. Those kinds of games can tell you're running on better hardware and push out better visuals on their own. The game I play most right now (and for the past several months) is Dead by Daylight. It's a pretty shitty PC port but because it's a PC port it behaves a bit like a PC game by recognizing more powerful hardware and putting it to use. Not as much as it could but enough to be noticeable.
It's because they discontinued it. Also, Kinects can be used for pretty interesting, non-video game things when connected to PC's so some people think they're worth that much.

Does anyone use an elite controller? I have one, but I've never changed any settings on it. For PUBG I think I'd like to map some buttons to the paddles on the bottom, but I guess my main question is can they be double mapped. I want to change LB to one of the L-Triggers on the bottom, but I'd like LB to also still be LB. Does it work like that? I'm assuming I can google, or youtube a video to figure out how the hell to do that.
