The first 10 mins of this season were fucking amazing. The rest of it was fucking terrible. Legit garbage.
man’s now he’s rip’s best man after rip beat the shit out of him and broke? His hand this show is hot garbage
Rip always planned on Lloyd being his best man. They talked about it at the bar when they discovered walker wasn't dead. I figured Jamie would be killing his father but in front of or with John's knowledge to know he's "chosen" that side and to know the attackers are all killed. Figured it would be a trade for John giving Jamie the governorship. We'll see how this all gets tied together
I still like the show, I guess just for the scenery, but good grief if I had to summarize what major plot points happened this season I'm not sure I could name 3 bullets. Spoiler: Spoiler they killed the henchman that came for them (10 mins into the season) Some new girl hippy got arrested and sent to prison Casey moved to a new house Jimmy did a season long infomercial Jamie had a little dad drama I think that's literally it?
I guess the good news is the overall show plot had basically no real resolution, so everything they could've done with this season is still on the table to be done next season?
Feels like they knew that the season was a clunker and just tied up all the trash in the finale. It wasn’t bad last two episodes. First episode was really good but a bunch of meh in between. Let’s hope they get it turned around
No clue at all what was going on with that vision quest or whatever and I could not possibly care less about anything to do with Jamie
Exactly. It was seemingly being set up for this to happen and they managed to really fuck up the whole storyline with the way it went down imo. I always imagined Jamie shooting his dad to save John’s life and prove that he’s truly a Dutton. I guess I’ve just seen Legends of the Fall too many times and the whole Montana/estranged son/redemption murder/save the family plot was just too obvious to actually use.
That episode was actually okay compared to some of the mid-season ones, but that’s an incredibly low bar. My interest level in that Kayce bullshit was less than zero.
Why are the barrel girls still around? They all got kicked out and then the one from Texas made that sob story about how hard she worked and she was given her job back. But the other two…I thought it was firmly established they weren’t welcome there anymore. Basically every scene in the bunkhouse has them. It’s a small thing but when my wife picks up on it, seems pretty obvious.
Had the same thought, they're just acting like that whole episode never happened? Jimmy's ex especially has no logical reason to be there, even if they had decided to allow them back. Just lazy writing
To bring the horse to the ranch. I would also imagine to face John and tell him his intentions and allow John to dictate the resolution since he felt he owed him that. It seems crazy that in what I would think was about three months all of a sudden he is cowboy in everyone's eyes. Reminds me of Cobra Kai where they are all black belts a few weeks after starting. If it was that easy to master anything it wouldn't be a big deal.
He said the vet was driving the truck back to Texas and he would stay and work off what ever he owed to John. John said he didn’t owe him anything and it was his choice if he wanted to leave back to Texas.
I also had to laugh that they just invented that conjugal visits are a thing when 1) not conjugal visits are allowed in federal prisons and 2) only 4 States allow conjugal visits, and Montana or any of the cowboy states are not in that group Also the court room drama part of this episode was hilariously bad. Not a lawyer, but none of that seemed remotely tethered to any sense of court room reality
I would love to be apart of some of these writer/editing rooms where they discuss each episode. Like surely everyone knew this was a colossal mess and pure money grab for the spin offs / paramount+ bs
doesn’t peacock own streaming rights for Yellowstone and not paramount+? Conspiracy theory - they decided to put all money into the spin-offs that they own streaming rights to and let Yellowstone die off in a season or two
You definitely might be onto something. I know that viacomcbs rebranded paramount into a movie network. I think Yellowstone is one of the only actual tv shows on it. I think it’s all just viacomcbs being greedy. They sold the rights for Yellowstone to peacock, meanwhile they will air it live on paramount (which they have changed into a movie network) and at the same time forcefeed everyone these spin offs that will only be shown on their internal streaming platform. It’s BS
I'm on season 4 episode 7. Have loved the series. Jamie's story this season is unenjoyable. I fast forwarded through some of the long dialogue between him and his dad. Also find some of the Beth stuff to be overly dramatic and played out. I get it, she's a badass bitch. By far the most enjoyable part of the show this season is the bunkhouse drama and fighting and Kayce's storyline. So far, this has been the worst season by a decent margin. Maybe it will get better in the next episodes.
Binged watched the last half of season 3 and all of season 4 the last couple days. Wow that was bad. Didn’t give a shit about the hippie girl story. Didn’t give a shit about Casey’s spirit quest. His wife is so annoying. Why did we set up her being a professor and nothing really happened there? She stop teaching? So much lazy writing. How did Jaime’s dad afford to pay for all those militia guys and set all that up? My wife’s an attorney and just laughing at some of the legal stuff. So much didn’t make sense. I could go on haha.
Season 4 of Yellowstone was one of the biggest flops of a major popular tv show I can remember in a long time. Show went from being good to garbage
I can't express my level of disdain for Beth's character in season 4 and the writing that allowed it to devolve that hard and fast.
Just finished rewatching S1-S3 with my gf (she hadn’t seen it yet). So much good, entertaining television. Not really looking forward to S4 a second time.
