Former Volusia teacher, who had sex with student, gets 3 years in prison: report Joe Mario Pedersen A former teacher at a Volusia County middle school, who is accused of having sex with a student, was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison, followed by two years of community control, for having sex with a 14-year-old student, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported. Stephanie Peterson, 27, “must also serve five years’ sex offender probation following community control, which is house arrest, and must register as a sex offender for the rest of her life,” the newspaper reported. Peterson, who used to work at New Smyrna Beach Middle School, pleaded guilty in October to a charge of lewd and lascivious battery. Peterson was arrested in February when the 14-year-old boy told his parents. Deputies said Peterson would pick the boy up at his home in the middle of the night on several occasions to have sex and smoke marijuana. We would have celebrated if anyone fucked my ~30yo 8th grade science teacher or cougar math teacher when we were in middle/high school. Agreed, if kid is old enough to drive maybe they can decide. At 13 i would have been happy to do it, but in hindsight it would have been unhealthy. The adult wanting to have sex with a kid isnt a good person and it can mess up your compass for what's normal.
I agree that it’s sick on her part. Nobody with any sense should argue against that. I think people struggle with the idea of a 13yo being labeled a life-ruined victim for getting their dick sucked or fucking someone they wanted to... you threw out rape and stealing in a post a few up from this but those victims don’t actively pursue getting raped or robbed. So that’s not exactly fair. You’re probably not gonna change anyone’s mind about the idea of a 13-15yo male being a victim we should pity for hooking up with someone they’ve almost certainly rubbed one off to a few dozen times, unless they were special needs or pressured/coerced into doing so.
